Man, 18, killed in city centre attack died from multiple injuries
An 18-year-old man who died after being attacked in Liverpool city centre has now been formally identified as Michael Toohey.
Michael, of Oil Street, Liverpool, was found with multiple injuries at an internet café on London Road. He was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital but died a short time later.
Merseyside Police said his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. The results of a post mortem have confirmed Michael died from multiple injuries. A murder investigation into the 18-year-old's death remains ongoing and CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries continue to be carried out.
A 34 year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath said: “We are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry and I would ask anyone who has not already contacted us, to do so as a matter of urgency.
