I think the house could still be standing to preserve the scene in case of a future trial. Jurors could be brought to look at it. Police probably knew the poor mum didn't have good long term chances.

Do we know what was the feud that led to this was about?
 
The trial and appeal are all done now. It’s not just their house, but the ones either side of it were damaged and had to be abandoned.

The son that survived and the guy that did it had a long standing feud over a car being damaged. They had previously been friends. Many minor crimes went back and forth between the two of them which ended with the fire.

Bolland got 21 years on each of the 3 counts of attempted murder to run concurrently with the murder convictions (40 years).

Worrall got 19 years for each attempted murder count (37 for the murders).

Brierley got 4 concurrent sentences of 21 years on each count of manslaughter.

I'd be happy for all 3 to get increased sentences, but I honestly don't see the total length of time spent in prison increasing unfortunately.

I hope I'm wrong though.
