It looks like maybe a 15-20 minute walk from Mikaeel's home to West Pilton Gardens. Not too far. The press briefing is at 2pm.

At that time in the morning there would have been a hell of a lot more people about.

That's what I'm thinking, 8.30 am on a school morning, I would think it would be a busy time for both traffic and pedestrians!!

Do we know how far away from home the sighting was ? X

"POTENTIAL SIGHTING AT 08.30am THURSDAY MORNING"
BBC NEWS

Please please have a good outcome for this wee boy.....

And at last my babysitting hrs are finished for today....
I'm heading out that way now to see if I can help, whilst there is still some light......and I'm also hoping to hear back from some police friends of mine....
And maybe get the gen on other communities......all without rumours I may add...

I think its a tremendous effort from the local and not so local communities.....and the police and emergency services.....

That part of Edinburgh is rough as but when it comes to children everyone rallies together......

I will be wrapping up well.....I got all my tartan skin when I was younger.....

If you look at the photo of mum in the Daily Mail, coats are hung up on the door behind her.

Nice catch. They're pretty high up there, eh ?

I cannot believe someone would drive passed a child of that size... I know there are always twists and turns in cases like this. Hopefully the truth will out, sooner rather than later. Is there definitely a press conference at 2pm? Haven't seen anything on news.

Any locals who know what time school starts for five/six year olds in Edinburgh? I am thinking this may have been a child being taken to school, running ahead of parent. Or a younger child coming home after parent has dropped off an older child, but again running ahead so they seemed to be alone. Is there a school near to the sighting?

Reporter on Sky News live is saying that Police are very keen to find people who have seen Mikaeel in the last few days. Also said he wasn't at nursery on Wednesday due to a cold but might have been off longer?

Ugh :(
They're spending too much time processing the family home for my liking.
What does a ' professional kidnapping ' even mean ?

Quote from Daily Record: Mikaeel’s grandmother, retired doctor Harjinder Kular, joined the rest of the family in Edinburgh as the search continued.

The family’s black Jaguar was parked outside and they left the property in a hurry at about lunchtime.
