Maybe she babysits and the neighbor just didn't know it wasn't her baby.
It doesn't sound like she talked to Mom, just observed her interactions with the kids. :twocents:

That's a good shout, if she is a single working mum, with 5 kids she may have friends who help out and she may return the favour. The police stated he has a twin and 3 older siblings.

Who does this baby belong to? Is that the newborn mentioned early on?

I wish I could be in Edinburgh now. I would go out searching for this little boy. I hope there are many people there who feel the same.

The mention of a hooded man running from the apartment has chilled me.

BBC is regional though, so the BBC News which is shown in Scotland will probably have this story as its main headline.

On our Sky package, the first BBC (the first channel showing) is actually BBC Scotland, simply because my husband has never bothered to update his address with them. When he first took out Sky many years ago, it was done through his parents' address. So, as we use his Sky card, we get Scottish BBC as our "main" BBC - if that makes any sense. To get our regional BBC, we need to search down to the Eastern region.

I'll have a look once my son has finished watching it, see if the Scottish BBC is headlining this story.

Anyone with good live media links, can you repost them, so we can all keep up? I'll look for some news links to post together. I don't want a media thread for this little one. I want him to be found before that is needed.

Amanda Speirs, 27, who lives in the neighbouring block of flats, said: “My son woke me up at about 6 this morning saying that he heard tapping in the door and that their was someone there.

“Living by myself I didn’t want to check at first but when I did there was no one there, that I could see.

“Now I have police in my house hand printing the door and they’ve gone through everything inside. They have checked my drawers, my cupboards, under the bed even my kitchen cupboards.

“It’s absolutely tragic, we just want to help however we can. Someone would have to sedate me if that was my kid.”

I know this is a bit different from our usual 'wandered off' cases but I hope all the nearby cars have been checked. Twice.

As I tucked my little ones in tonight, I couldn't help think about this little boy.
I can't believe the news are hardly reporting anything on him, they seem to be still treating it like a missing person/runaway. He's 3yr old fgs!!!

Neighbours are saying, they don't know how a little 3year old could open that main door and there is CCTV in the area, surely someone seen something???
Also the report of the hooded male leaving the building shortly before the police arrived it's very worrying.
Don't think il be able to sleep tonight, What must his poor mum be going through???....

Police about to use a specialist search dog around area of #MikaeelKular home

https://twitter.com/gordonchree

It is also possible this is a dog trained to determine how old a scent is.
Obviously this little boy was outside his home more than once.
Some dogs can tell whether a scent is a week old or an hour old.

I would want a dog like that to tell me where the MOST RECENT scent of his led to.
Hopefully they use that kind of dog long before they bring in HRD dogs. :twocents:
