I know Mikaeel has a scar on his nose, but is this another on the back of his neck?

It could be or maybe a clipper mark where the clipper has gone to deep. I didn't notice until you highlight this.

Yes, it could be. Or just a natural hairline. Looks a little wavy and distinct for both of those though.

There isn't much uk media attention on Nida Ul-Naseer, missing in Wales either.

I hope it isn't because neither of these missing people are white British:(

I'm only saying that because when other young children went missing (April Jones, Holly Wells & Jessica Chapman for example) there was a lot more coverage than this.

It is still very rare for such a young child to go missing in the UK, that I'm surprised this isn't getting more attention.

I will be signing off for the night. I really hope there is some good news by the morning and Mikaeel is found safe and well.

I just said the same to my husband, I'm hoping that it is just because LE and the media know more than they can release at the moment.

It's nothing to do with racial bias in my opinion

It's wrong, and sad but I would tend to agree. Add to that a 'beloved' soap star is in court, and one of the countries much loved sitcom stars passed away.. sad but still. He is 3 years old and in all probability in grave danger or worse. Hurts my head and heart.

It is very quiet isn't it? I've been flicking through the news channels but their just going over the days events.
It does seem odd to still be treating it as a missing persons case.

I must go to bed but will be praying very hard for some good news x

This has been all over the news in the uk this evening in the north west area. As this is predominantly a US based site it hits closer to home when it's near you (no offence meant), hope this poor little boy returns safe.
However I smell a rat- family member involved I think. :(

This is the top story in Scotland but not the UK as a whole. There is a perception in Scoltand that "Scottish" stories don't get the same coverage as English ones, who knows how true that is. I really don't think the lack of interest in to do with his ethic origins.

Ummmm. I tend to think this little boy is adorable and police are trying very, very hard to keep people calm because they are a little afraid of what the reaction might be, if people think something bad has happened to him.

The media is biting its tongue hard, in my opinion. But is beginning to crack under the pressure. There are a few signs. Look carefully. In my opinion.

This is getting attention, twitter is rolling non stop with tweets, lots and lots of people asking for RT's and sharing pictures, and crying out for more attention from media too.

If the pic of Mikaeel's wise little face hadn't done it for me, that one of the back of his head would have done. There is just something about that short velvety haircut and the shape of his skull......I just wanted to reach into the pic and gather him up.

I want this little one to be found alive. Unwell or a little hurt I can cope with. Nothing worse though.

It seems impossible that a 3 year old could have got out of the flat without being noticed, yet alone opened the big outside door ..... so is it possible he is actually still within the flat or block of flats?

Maybe accidently got himself stuck inside an old fridge, or in a tumble drier that another family has dumped somewhere nearby? Or in a strange place within the flat, that nobody has thought to look?

I know that sounds very inplausable, but so does a poorly 3 year old boy getting dressed and disappearing into the night.

If someone took him (custody issue) would they take the time to get him dressed and put a coat etc on him? Surely it would be a case of grabbing him and getting out of there quickly. If that was the case, then an amazing coincidence that it was done on the one night he was sleeping in a room on his own.... unless someone actually knew that was the case, which would mean it was a perfect time to snatch him. I really hope this is the case.

Baffling case at the moment, but I agree that it is likely there is much more known behind the scenes. Would help to know if his bed was slept him. I'm still not sure if he was "put to bed" or he "went to bed".

Cases that get attention usually have some kind of "hook" for people to grasp onto -- child is seen getting into a particular kind of car, someone is identified as the last person the child seen with, a person involved in case is caught lying, a relative breaks people's hearts or makes them suspicious with televised pleas, etc. But when there's nothing except that a child hasn't been seen, then it's hard to write much after the initial report, and the story gets ignored.

If anyone in my family ever goes missing, I will come up with some kind of attention-getting stunt, just to have as many eyes open as possible.

What i don't get is, between 9pm and 7:15am it would have been pitch black outside, i don't see a 3yr old boy going for a wander or heading towards any open or wooded areas etc, i think he would have stayed in the light, if that's the case i just cant believe there hasn't been a sighting, a wee boy would be so out of place, especially at that time of night/morning, and there's always some traffic on the road like newspaper delivery vans and milk vans etc.

Also even if he did find somewhere to curl up and sleep, he wouldn't have slept for this long and stayed hidden.

Im usually wrong but i dont think he was on his own.
