So is the mother the one who is Asian?
I am so confused here...

I think the mother is of Asian origin and the father. However she has been married once before to a man whose name sounds Nigerian. According to the media, he is the father of the older children.

So how many Asian/Pakistani people are in the UK?
How many Asian/Pakistani missing people do we see at Websleuths?
(I do not recall another one before 2013 that's why I'm asking.)
Two going missing in one month seems very odd to me.

There's a huge Indian and Pakistani community in the UK. I might be wrong but I think there might be more people from the UK starting to use websleuths and that may be why there have been two cases on here recently. There was also one last year of an Indian girl on holiday in the UK who went missing.

I can think of a few cases of girls of Asian origin going missing over the years which have been reported here.

Yep. There's nothing odd about two cases in this time span IMO.

Asian or Asian british make up 7.8% of the population in 2011

That doesn't sound very big at all! But there are large ethnic minorities in the large cities. I think the Asian origin population in London for example is over 20%. On the tube each day, I find I'm in a minority as a White British person. Looking around there is such a mix if ethnicities - I love it.

Anyway this is all a bit off topic. I just hope that this little boy is found safely but I'm very scared of the worst at the moment.

I can too... but one of Asian AND Pakistani origin is different.
We have an 18 year old girl and 3 year old boy who are BOTH Asian AND Pakistani...
They both went missing within the same month from the UK.

I find that interesting as I don't remember another case of an Asian and Pakistani missing person.
I just find that incredibly coincidental. I'm not suggesting any connection, just a bit amazed.
And if locals don't think it's weird, then it's not weird anyway. :seeya:

Is Pakistani and Indian descent considered Asian? I consider it to be middle eastern, but could be mistaken.

Aaah, sorry! I misunderstood you. Yes I guess that is odd. Although I don't think there tends to be much mixed marriages between Pakistani and Indians due to the political and religious history between the two countries. I get the feeling that the mother in this case is probably first generation British and identifies with Britain or Scotland more than the Indian subcontinent. I noticed her children have quite mixed names - some sound typical British names where as other sound more Asian. To me this suggests a family who are well integrated into the country where they live, as well as their heritage. jmo.

I don't really know what you mean - both Asian and Pakistani? Maybe I'm not picking it up right?

They are of Pakistani origins, Asian is just a description used in the UK to describe someone who looks like they may have Pakistani or Indian origins. Sorry if I've picked what you're saying up wrongly :)

Any mention of search dogs? Those trained to find missing persons can be used to track the path of the boy if used soon enough after. Why delay using trained search dogs?

Yes, it is South Asia but just across from the Middle East. Think it's only a couple of hours flight from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi.

Oh I'm so hoping those cries turn out to be positive and my fears in this case are unfounded.
