i dont believe this for a minute

A former detective and missing persons expert has told Sky News he believes Mikaeel may have been "professionally abducted". John Moses has said that is what the evidence points to. You can watch the interview below and read the article here.
by Alan McGuinness 11:37 AM

chooses a child in a building within a building and happens to know that on that night/morning the boy happens to be not sharing with his twin? and i dont believe a stranger would pop his gloves and coat on..its as if hea been taken for a walk..
why not grab him ,carry him and put him in the car..
sounds like a car wasnt used to me

hes close..

What the heck's a 'professional abduction' anyway? The nearest I can think he means is a kidnapper for money, but Mikaeel doesn't sound a likely candidate for that......

A Glasgow journalist on Twitter has just tweeted to say that the police are expected to hold a news conference in the next hour or so.

It's not clear at this time whether this is related to things that were removed from the flat today or to the wheelie bin area that has been cordoned off

I can only think of perhaps a relative in another country paying someone to abduct a child to bring to them. Say a wealthy father who has returned to his home country, and the mother has custody in the UK, and the father arranges for someone to abduct the child?

Just in general, I'm not saying that is the case here.

Maybe someone who kidnaps where custody issues are involved?

yeah ..lots of the same on other appeals ive seen, most not believing hes left the building..and not believing hes been taken,

hope it doesnt deter people searching and sharing..hes still missing and only a baby

The community coming out and searching is very reminiscent of other UK cases, like when April Jones went missing. Also, like the Shannon Mathews and Tia Sharpe disappearances ...... I just hope they don't end up the same way, with the community feeling tricked and let down, as that could deter others from helping out if something like this happens again in the future.

The community in Edinburgh and surrounding areas have been amazing. Great to see so many good people wanting to help, when we often just read of bad people doing awful things.

I'm of the opposite opinion. The police know the local community would want to help but can't risk them discovering any actual evidence so have probably sent them to look in a place where they know there wouldn't be anything to find. It would make the volunteers feel as if they've at least tried to find him.

I agree. Also, in cases like this, the police probably wouldn't want to run the risk of members of the public discovering a child's body - heaven forbid.

SKY news just reporting that he didn't attend nursery on Wednesday due to illness, and that when questioned, police are not forthcoming with details of when he was last seen.

Apparently they are (and I'm paraphrasing off the tv here) open to the idea that he may have gone missing before Wednesday night.

That was what the SKY News reporter just said.

The Sky Live reporter is saying again they have asked Police and the Local Authority when Mikaeel was last at Nursery and both have not answered this. All they have said is he was off ill on Wednesday

Sitting on hands.
Praying for a miracle.
The last case I followed involving a baby is still going on 2 years later :(

This is resembling the Aliayah Lunsford case. Several children in the home and baby slept separate due to illness. If i am remembering correctly

Grrr....this is the kind of crucial information that I think it is just pointless to keep secret. So police have had people racking their brains to recall anything they saw Thursday night, when it could have been another day people should be reporting anything suspicious they saw.

It really does not help in such an urgent search, and I am sure authorities have had this suspicion for some time. In my opinion.

ETA : No, Wednesday night. Am getting my days confused.

That has been my thought since watching the news today - very worrying and I hope I am wrong

Thinking along these lines, wasn't there reports of a man running out the building early Morning Thursday? Maybe this was his dad coming round
(Unexpectedly?) at which point he realises mikaeel's not there so the mother then had to raise the alarm at 7.15
that Mikaeel is missing?

Reminder: until or unless the parents are named suspects or persons of interest we do not "go there" and accuse them of anything. We are a victim and family friendly forum.

By now police know the last day Mikaeel attended kindergarten. I just can't see how it would hamper their investigation to release that info.

Rosdeep is reported to be a beauty therapist. I wonder if she has her own salon, works for someone else or visits homes/has clients visit? It could mean lots of virtual strangers visiting the home.
