No more so than anyone else who might have been involved. I don't believe in singling out mothers for special revulsion when something happens to a kid.

I do. Nobody expects that a serial killer or child molester is going to treat this child nicely. But we DO expect that his mother, the one who should love him and care for him and protect him, is not going to be the one that kills him. :banghead:

the mods have not changed the heading yet. Sadly, it should not say ACTIVE SEARCH anymore.....

Terrible stuff.
I'm confident that the body will have been found outside, not far from Dunvegan Ave (property in which RA lived, owned by parents and now possibly occupied by sister) in a wooded area.
Clearly LE will have had great suspicions from the start but I don't believe they will have been absolutely certain [as they are often], otherwise they couldn't have gone through with coordinating public search.
So this means it's more complicated, I think.
Likewise the fact that mother has been arrested (contrary to some discussions, she *has* been arrested, since to have been "detained", rather than simply helping with inquiries" etc is the same) rather than charged suggests that it's not cut and dried.
My feeling is that Mikaeela will have died from neglect and that there was an attempted cover-up, rather than through a "straightforward" (that sounds awful...) murder. I'm inclined to think that the fact that we'll learn the body was left at a location that ties in with RA's personal history suggests that it wasn't thought out at all. But I'm also inclined to think that it happened some while before the report that Mikaeela had disappeared since I'm confident that there would have been number plate records of crossing the Forth Bridge that would have led to a swift arrest if they'd been from the night of the claimed disappearance.
Just my thoughts on the matter...
---
But then: according to Sky the police aren't interested in the surrounding area of the Dunvegan property at the moment but rather that the cordoned area is to prevent access. So I guess I'm maybe wrong about the woodland.
Additionally, the reporter (not sure who it was -- not Brunt) said that there's currently a "dynamic" scene in Edinburgh itself and fast developments.

I am just bumping this to say welcome to WS, Westchester. Thank you for joining us.

Onthecounter, you were correct about him being known by the Fife Social Services rather than Edinburgh as I stated.

For those outside Scotland, we have an extra verdict available here at trials of Not Proven.

I think it hits harder when it was a mother/father involved. Children love there parents more than anything, they rely on us for everything, they trust us.

My children are my world and I know I am theirs.

So sad when the person who's supposed to love, protect and care for the children are the ones involved in harming them! X

Oh my. For some reason I could not get WS to load for the majority of last night, nows the first time I've been able to get on and comment since that poor child was found.

I really didn't want to believe mom was Involved buti thought from the beginning this was the case. Lots of little tidbits of Info coming out in the media now which if we'd heard from the beginning would have backed up what so many of us were thinking.

I'd be interested now in knowing why, although only one person will know the true answer to that. But why? Why Mikaeel over his other siblings?

Also mom apparently visted the house in question alone last week. So where were the other children?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...woke-one-morning-little-Mikaeel-vanished.html

Mikaeel’s mother Rosie Kular, 33, was brought up in a detached house in an upmarket part of Edinburgh.

Her father Gurbux, who was from India, died aged just 43 when she was in her teens.

Her mother Harjinder, 60, has since married twice, most recently to Dr Bangarpet Krishnaswamy, 69, a GP originally from Bangalore, who also develops properties in Scotland.

He is the director of East Neuk Healthcare, which owns a 40-bed nursing home in Anstruther, Fife.

The family live in a large two-storey detached home on a small upmarket estate, with a navy Jaguar and dark blue Volvo parked in front of the property.

After studying at comprehensive Balwearie High School in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Miss Kular went to Fife College and graduated with an HND in beauty therapy, which she now uses to run her own mobile health and beauty studio.

<modsnip>

So she does drive and has access to a vehicle by the sound of the bolded bit.

It is very hard to fathom what played out in this case if only one person was involved. I am waiting patiently, but I would not be surprised if more than one person finds themselves facing charges at this point. Everything for me depends on if whoever did this had a vehicle or not.

Mikaeel's sister is hardly old enough to understand the finality of death. It will be so hard and the family will have been so disrupted now, I fear; even split up. I hope someone thinks of saving a few items and photographs of Mikaeel for her, so she has something of her twin to keep for the future.

Thank you kaos. I managed to miss that clue about the driving.

Could you elaborate please?

My daughter is the same age as Mikaeel, so this case has made me sad.
I can't help it, but looking at the mom's facebook, she seems such a loving and caring mother. I don't (want to) believe she murdered her little boy, at least not by intention.
For me, it just doesn't add up here. Mikaeel had a twin- so if the motive was related to the other father - why was it only Mikaeel and not both? (Just to avoid false interpretations: Thank god we dont have 2 dead children, I am just referring to a possible motive!)
Also she had other children too - I don't get it why only Mikaeel was in foster care and not all of them?

What has happened?
Did he die because of his infection and the mom panicked?

I know I am only judging from FB-photos, but I do not believe that this mother contributed to the boy's death.

MOO - of course I could be wrong.

Rest in peace, Mikaeel.
Gone way too soon.

Just looking at mums facebook page and wondering how people are able to comment on her photos, unless they are all her friends.

BIB I believe it was this week that she went to the house. Either Tuesday or Wednesday....presumably the other children were in school and Mikaeel's twin sister was at nursery.

If what I have just read is correct, it seems that poor Mikaeel was buried in the garden of the sister's bungalow........ if so, then surely more charges are imminent....

While her status's are set to private her pics are open. Therefore anyone with a fb account and view and comment in them. One of the more common mistakes people make when the think they are setting their profiles to private.

Did he even have a chest infection?? It will all come out and I think it'll be neglect rather than murder, but I will be very interested to hear who actually saw him over the Xmas break. The whole family could be implicated here if he was not seen by them.

I can't comment on them. Not that I want to, but there isn't an option to..

I had a look to, lots of nasty comments on there!
I think if you don't have your privacy settings right, anyone can comment on your pics and write on your wall. X
