If I said to you that I’d gone to LancsPolice at the weekend and given them a map of the local area pointing out to them ditches, hedgerows and wooded areas which could be potential body deposition spots - what would you say to me?

Be honest!
I’d say don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. Good on you.. nothing to lose

If you haven't gone to the press to talk about it , nothing but a thank you from me :)

Police are always free to dismiss it or use it if considered interesting or helpful .

LOL
I thought people would reply:

-Do'h! haven't you realised they already have local maps?

( Anyway, I have not done this, but one of the ' experts' has said he has done this. Just read it in a link)

I have they replied yet? I'd guess it would be good to think they had already done that, (no way a criticism of Lancashire police) but it can only be useful.

Do we have an image of the sign at the other end of the footpath? Would be interesting to see how it has been put up and where.
Don’t think I can post on thread sorry

Paul has asked Mercedes to try and track the car keys. Can this be done?

I posted yesterday some original research on this. I work in automotive tech...

Mercedes key fobs are continually transmitting a radio wave that extends as far as 500ft. With the correct scanning equipment, looking in the right places, this could be done.

It would be rude but he’s a Southerner and I’m Northern’ish

It would be the car that continually transmits anything not the keyfob.

Yes. Assuming if in the water it hasn't compromised the key by now. This would possibly be the same technique thieves use to scan the frequency of keyless fobs to gain access to your car. We have caught people on camera in our neighbourhood going house to house trying to catch a frequency from keys inside the house. So it can definitely be done.

However, maybe this is a tad too late. Did this police do this earlier already? If not, why not.

It’s both.

“A keyless fob has an in-built transceiver, which can send and receive coded radio signals.”

The key fobs do too. That's why it helps to place them inside RFID cases in your house so the signal can't be scanned.

I'd have thought that too. Can't see why the fob would need to transmit continually, but then I know nothing about modern car capability. My car requires an actual physical key.

The silence from LE is absolutely deafening.

Had a hell of a shock this morning to get a notification that Nicola Bulley - Mortgage Adviser had sent me a FB message. Anyone else had this happen? I was viewing her business page last night. The message area was blank, just advised that if I replied she would be able to see my public posts. I don't know how business pages work. Do they send out automated messages. I'm not following, haven't liked or commented. Or might it have been fake? I deleted it.

Business pages on FB will send an automatic reply (if they've set it up that way) if you happen to click on the message button on their page.

If they have nothing new to report it would seem pointless making a statement.
Silence does not equate to inactivity

Edited mean to include not
