NB might be wearing jeggings but she's definitely not wearing wellies.
The police said ankle type wellies - they’re quite the fashion amongst school mums

And the river Tees in Yarm is much bigger & deeper than the Wyre. Was such a sad story of Luke Jobson
Yes it broke my heart, I'd gone to help the search and arrived to hear he'd been found. It certainly gives an interesting insight for comparison here. And what about the river Libby Squire was in, how does that compare?

Can someone confirm where the phone was first originally found? From what i've read the witness has said the phone was first on the floor not that the phone was on the bench?

The police described them as ankle wellies, which the photo from.the CCTV clearly shows.

So glad Peter Faulding & his specialist rescue and underwater team are going up to help! There was a high profile case in the US last year where the police could not find a missing girl/car and a specialist volunteer dive & sonar team went to help and within a day found her. With Peter Faulding & team on the case it will be known for certain if she is in the river or not:(
If he has been taken up on his offer and this is true then there’s a good chance we will know soon if NB is or is not in the river

If somebody toppled backwards, is it more likely that there would be no trace of the fall?

They look more like ankle boots to me, when I think of wellies I think of the traditional wellies not small boots.

Interesting. I thought the phone was on bench and the harness was on the floor between the bench and the top of the bank. But I can’t confirm it.

IMHO This is sad. I am not familiar with this area. It seems like a safe place for out door walking but it also sounds like there are some potential hazards for some one to fall or injure themselves. Although there is more of an indication that Nicola some how ended up in the water and CCTV and gates are around. The only tricky thing might be that her routine was fairly regular and possibly easily watched.
Hoping for the best outcome. Has to terrible for the family.

But the police never mentioned she was wearing EarPods, and that would be essential as it would mean she

i can’t imagine anyone having their phone on loudspeaker and putting it in their pocket: what’s the point if that?!

I disagree that it’s difficult listening to your phone on loudspeaker whilst walking - it’s not much different to taking a call in your car when driving. In fact, it can be easier to hear and talk in that mode.

Nikki was carrying the phone in her hand as witnesses saw, so it obviously wasn’t difficult for her to walk whilst talking on loudspeaker. And maybe she wanted to listen whilst sat on the bench so she could concentrate better sat still.
Sorry I've seen nothing about her carry her phone in hand and was seen by witnesses, but I could of missed that due to all the posts on here, can you share where it says she was carrying her phone please, thanks

Perhaps NB was facing the bench and stepped backwards and then be shocked to be tumbling backwards down the slope into the water

Is it only the friend who has released these images, or LE?

This outfit is quite unlike the one the police described, to the best of my recollection. Did NB get changed before her walk?
she just isn't wearing the long Gilet. Maybe she put that on top of her coat before starting her walk?

And I do agree loudspeaker was on whilst sat at the bench (if she was at the bench)

Look at the photos on NB's own FB page, there are photos of her in the exact gilet, it's obvious she's wearing the same on in the CCTV images.

If that was the coat she was wearing for the walk I can't see how LE would possibly describe it as ankle length. It's quite clearly knee length. Especially when they were very specific about what people should look for.

They must have more up to date CCTV/footage. They may have their reasons for not releasing it, but something isn't adding up
That is not an ankle length Gilet. MOO

This is good. I just wonder how far a person in the river might have gone over all this time. Anyone know roughly? Their search area might be huge by now. But their equipment might be more than capable of that.
