I just looked at my 'walk' history in the Fitbit app and I can see some of my walks have been recorded with the maps attached with the exact routes but majority have not. I am assuming it is only when you manually set up a 'walk exercise' before going for a walk.

So there’s a possibility she wasn’t captured on CCTV the whole time. We obviously don’t know whether she was captured on dashcam. JMO.

Possible for sure. The fact that the only images released of her that day is at her front door, albeit this was family that shared these images, the police may not have granted it.

When you say "local police" I don't think it exists ny more. Even for minor incidents they might be sent in from somewhere like Fleetwood/Blackpool/Poulton/Wherever. They almost certainly wouldn't know for sure where Garstang Road becomes Blackpool Rd.

I think it's poor communication from the police about this, especially when they are requesting specific location info/dashcam footage, but I've stopped being wound up by it now :)
Yeah, good advice. Dont want to give myself an aneurysm given my age.

I don’t really give a stuff what his personality is like, just as long as his sonar equipment is good.

I‘d rather he started the other side of the weir though, just to be thorough.
Ive no doubt the police have searched that with a fine toothcomb but for the sake of argument - if she were stuck and went over the weir tonight, they’d miss her as they‘d be downstream tomorrow.
Completely agree.

I’ve found the idea of her passing over the weir impossible especially with the water level and tide during her disappearance. If there is a deep hole by the bridge and what PF says about the majority of victims being found close by then you can’t say they’ve left no stone unturned if the new sonar doesn’t check the small section upstream of the weir.

Just my opinion

Kudos to another poster who questioned where are her car keys? They would also unfortunately may have added weight to her clothing I do hope there is a positive resolution to this awful incident. My thoughts again, to all her family and friends. Huge hugs.

Not sure why PF is getting so much hate for offering his services..

He (along with many people on here) seemed to find the idea of NB being in the river implausible. Since the basic info put out by police is changing on a daily basis (timings, clothing descriptions etc), why wouldn’t he question their work…a lot of us on here are?

This is a professional who has being in this exact field of work for decades. He likely has more experience than the specialist teams initially deployed by the police.

He also has far superior equipment than what has previously been used in the search. Can you honestly imagine him sitting at home and not offering to help, all the while knowing this?

Finally he says he spends most of his day to day working for police in the southeast. Why would he need the exposure provided by this case? It’s been his job for over 2 decades.

All I see is one of the best in the business offering to help in a situation that requires precisely him and his team.

All my own opinion. Edited to change from southwest to southeast.
Its not his offer of help, its the airtime he's carving out. The police are in charge of the investigation, not him. There's even the company logo on the front of the boat. If he's good at his job, he needs to be engaging with the police forces, not the general public, it just doesn't seem very dignified, given the circumstances, and stinks of banging the brand/company awareness drum. Couple that with some of the dubious statements a few days ago, it looks very poor. With that said, of course its good to have more people looking, with potentially better calibrated equipment and more powerful software (though I can't verify this is the case, I am assume it is).

I am a few minutes drive from this scene, and one cannot imagine what her family are going through, or what NB has been, or is going through.

Yes., quite possibly she was never ever captured on CCTV. It's a small prosperous village with not a lot of crime. The village itself probably has very few CCTV cameras. Imo.

If the Fitbit data shows increases Heart rate etc (provided police have this) now could they distinguish between her falling and flailing and her heart rate increasing, and her being attacked and fighting/running etc?

Does anyone else feel as though their thoughts on this case have been thrown up in the air today?

Right now, the river looks bigger than I imagined, and while I sadly still think NB is in there somewhere, the events of today have shaken lose a couple of theories. My thoughts remain with NB and her family.
That river swells considerably in time of heavy rain. Breaks it banks quite regularly. Can look quite different from one week to the next. There's two flood basins upstream that attempt to control the flooding.

I admit that the likelihood of her disappearing suddenly due to being a sleeper agent is rather unlikely. But it's still as plausible as some of the other suggestions about her being taken away by people on a boat. Not quite sure why the post needed to be deleted, it was just a link to a report interviewing someone with 20 years experience in British Intelligence saying there are lots of these agents in the UK :-/
I had wondered this myself.. about being lured to a boat.. its surely a possibility that cannot be ruled out and IMO anyone who was staying at the Caravan Park on Allotment Lane on that Friday should have been checked too..

I don't think it's a boating sort of river there really, it does have shallow parts as well as deep ones, and there's the weir just downstream. Canoe/kayaking yes, boats I dunno.

No Fitbit device has incident/fall detection.

IMO - However, even if it did, I'm not sure if it would detect that. They're meant to detect a sudden fall or stoppage, like if one were to lose their footing.

Depending on how much one moves it could be auto detected as an exercise. My Fitbit Charge 2 identifies when I play a motion game as an exercise.

How do you know that? Please do not criticise the Police without factual evidence. I absolutely applaud them for what they are doing - they are putting their own lives at risk. This is an incredibly perplexing situation as there is not firm forensic evidence either way. However, everyone is exploring all avenues and we all want the best outcome. Unless you know otherwise please do not criticise those on the ground trying to find Nicola
Makes me question, and as did formet det. Peter Becksly on GMB, why was the bench not taken away for forensic examination, or tented off so that it could be througouhly examined.

Even poorer given back in the first Press Confrence RIley did she requested the footage from Garstang Lane - There is no read called Garstang lane

I would like to think he would have the noise to think, hang on I will check the cctv My husband just said that if I went missing he'd be hard pressed to describe what I was wearing, whereas I'm the opposite and always recall people's outfits.

Interesting. Will have to look for that interview.
