I think at this stage it's pointless spending time debating whether her coat was ankle or knee length or otherwise. It does nothing to aid finding her at this point. Imo

Can anybody confirm where this bridge is located in relation to the bench and possibly the name of this row of seemingly holiday homes. On the satellite image in Google maps I can't seem to correlate anything to this row of homes/caravans.

IMO people have been discussing this because a longer length garment is more likely to make somebody trip.

It would be interesting to know the position of phone on the bench….was it on the left or right and whether NB is left or right handed…what I am trying to get at here is it could be a reasonable assumption that if NB is right handed and was sat on bench then phone would be to the right hand side. If placed as a decoy it may have been placed to the opposite side. Does that make sense??
I’m right handed but always hold my phone in my left hand and to my left ear. I wouldn’t have thought I am alone in doing this so I’m not sure the position of the phone on the bench would necessarily prove anything? MOO

NB was last seen in the upper field at 9:10, while the conference call was ongoing. So it would make sense for her to carry her phone in her hand at that time.

I'm still so heartbroken by all this, but I would really like to know why LE haven't /didn't release photos of NB on the day she went missing if they had them? And of course no reconstruction. (In other cases LE have released pictures from the day, to try and jog peoples memory I assume, along with the description, and later a reconstruction of some sort I know different police forces will have different ways of doing things, but this has been particularly jarring). I was also struck that I wouldn't necessarily have picked out the picture from the description in NB's case. I do still wonder if there is a line of enquiry we aren't privy to, which precludes the aspects we are familiar with seeing in MSM, which is why so many of us find this particular case odd.

I thought the phone was found on the floor?

"It's understood the mum's mobile phone was found on the ground next to a bench overlooking the water."

Police call in extra divers in search for Nicola Bulley after initially 'declining' specialist assistance despite family's desperate pleas - as missing mother is captured on CCTV doing school run and loading her dog in car on day she vanished

And if it was ankle length she may not have been able to move or kick her legs to swim!

In my opinion it's very confusing if they refused help from specialist diving officers given their main theory was that NB had fallen in the river.

You would think the divers that the police have would be specialist too! Otherwise, what's the point?

What does the sun think the other divers were, if not specialists?

I really hope this new crew are able to find something, however considering Lancs police have said they've already done side scanning sonar, I'm just not sure what else this new crew offer that the others didn't? Maybe someone could explain?

Also LE could have conducted a reconstruction with a weighted mannequin to see how far it would travel down the river in a day, then carry out calculations (I know there will be anomalies along the river they need to take into consideration).

The family and police are not completely aligned in this investigation.

It came after an earlier statement in which he said police had turned down his offer of assistance, saying: ' Following my public message to Lancashire Police offering the services of the SGI underwater search team and our vast range of specialist equipment free of charge to assist in the search for Nicola Bulley, I was subsequently contacted directly by the grieving family pleading for a way to make this happen.

They didn't refuse help from divers. They've had multiple SAR teams on site since the Friday it happened. Including specialist dive teams.

if you read the police interview at the start of the thread, this and much more information is explained in detail
