i have not really loooked at Rownawater that much as i believed that the police had covered that with a locked gate and cctv. I also didnt realise rowanwater is part residential and part holiday lets. The locked gate has access to fiddle neck directly onto the fields where we believe NB was last seen by the witness at 09.10. Iam sure this has been mentioned before but i have focussed to much on the bench and the gate and the additional gate to wyreside farm caravan park.IMO

I’m hoping MSM catch on soon and reiterate TAs FB update but no only on FB at the moment sadly.
Thank you i hope so

I know what you mean. I am pretty sure that they'll cut the live footage if anything shows up. In fact, they HAVE cut the live footage at the moment, for whatever reason. I find it more offensive that a crowd of onlookers was shown there gawping, like it's a day out for them. I hate that kind of thing.
I totally agree. IMO they should have the area cordoned off while they are searching to stop people standing around gawping.

It’s definitely worth a discussion as it is a possible exit route with no working CCTV. Not forgetting it was the last location NB was seen by an eye witness. So many focus is on the bench and river because of willow and what was found. IMO JMO

It seems really crass. I have a horror of being in the way for things like that and would have removed myself pretty quickly out of the area if I'd been there.

I've seen lots of videos of the general public there most days, just wandering around. You can bet that if something does get found it'll be all over twitter in seconds.

I just hope that anybody that is around does have the respect to not take, post or share images if NB is found.

It does seem odd the area is just open as usual. If she's not found in the river and it does turn out to be a crime, then the crime scene has been seriously impacted. How can they be so sure? Why take the chance? It's not like it's a daily hive of activity or a critical working point for people. Just close off the immediate area.

I bet half the people who are slating them for having a livestream for this are sat there watching it regardless. I don't necessarily agree with it either, but I can't say that I wouldn't be curious to watch.

Appreciate what you're saying but am not sure our laws allow LE to just tape off public access paths to stop spectators.
I also wouldn't go down there to watch but unless they're physically interfering with the search operation or putting themselves at danger due to the water I doubt that LE have the powers.

In cases where there's no visual access, often public & media complain about that too

No live-stream is happening. There was a very short live broadcast of nothing happening earlier.

Oh they can and they do. I live in Edinburgh and police Scotland close access roads/paths for the pettiest of things in comparison, not pot holes though.

Of course they can. I’m sure they did the other day while a search was ongoing.

different laws and regulations in Scotland to England. ( Agree though, have seen some OTT stuff up there)

Scots law (criminal and civil) is often very different to England and Wales.

The police specialist divers said on the first day they did 1 mile upstream and 3 miles downstream. Going by that they'd have already gone well past the weir. There was no mention which equipment was used for this search though.
Searching 4 miles of the river is pretty impressive.

The 3 miles downstream seems a long way for a body to travel in that space of time. And would it be able to go further ....or would it get caught at the weir?

This makes me think she's not in there. Otherwise they'd have found her.

MOO.

How long can you keep somewhere closed off for though? They will have looked for and gathered any evidence already.

Yes they said so when they first put a cordon up - at a dangerous spot. around bench (where there's also that danger sign?)

( IDK how dangerous the spot is today - where the public/media are standing this afternoon - how close it is to water's edge)

The options of her disappearance are few, must except that. She just walked away for personal reasons unknown, not likely by the majority. She was abducted in a controlled fashion in which the perp presented a weapon and lead her away to vehicle then to unknown location. Some interaction with her and the river which personally I'm leaning towards despite the water searches. I just take heavy notes on a team called " Adventures with Purpose" who specialized in finding not just vehicles but those that were lost in them. Many times even within minutes they find the lost member of a family after the authorities said they searched the area with a fine-tooth comb. Now if a vehicle can be missed with someone inside it. We need to look at the reality of just the person themselves being missed. I Pray no matter the cause she is found, Lord willing found safe.
