Yes. It basically narrowed the field for me to exactly how you say.Yes I agree which leads us back to the police theory of an accidental fall into the river or foul play in the field but ultimately ending up in the river. IMO.

This would actually be a socially useful application of deepfake technology. Rather than use it to produce short films of celebrities saying comically preposterous things, it could helpfully be used create a picture or moving pictures of her exactly as she looked on that day.Similarly when describing NB's outfit. Why not use clear pictures of the clothes or better still produce some exact replicas.....in last Fridays press conference LE asked for the public to pay special attention to the clothes NB was wearing.....
Maybe evidence of somebody trying to get out.I also thought it was interesting she said they believed Nicola "had been" in the water. So, something is telling them she had. But if not the fitbit data, I wonder what.
Press Conference Video
Merely she had them at her disposal if requiredMy apology, I am missing the intent of your original quote?
A BIT defensive? Sounded like they have been getting a lot of criticism and didn't she say at some point will take action against people online or something?I found the press conference a bit on the defensive side, stating that the case has been reviewed by the NCA as being satisfactorily carried out, nothing has been done wrong or missed.
The emphasis from this was very much the same though, a tragic accident, NB had fallen in the river and had not left the park by any other method.
The river search is now being extended to Knott-End and Morecambe Bay, i.e. all the way to the sea
Watching it live it highlighted the scale of the investigation.
1000s of pieces of info sent in
500 active lines of enquiry
40 detectives under a SIO
Specialists still combing the banks and the river
River searches being carried out in the same places again by specialists using many methods
Door to door in the local area
700 identified vehicles to check on for dashcam or any other info - some local, some not
The Police remain pretty certain that NB suffered a tragic accident in the water. Doesn't sound like they'd consider anyone else could have been involved with that either, be it deliberately or accidentally... "We do not expect any criminal element to the enquiry"
Something I picked up on when asked about PF from SGI stating that he believed
NB was not in the river, the response was to thank him but state that does not mean she had not been in the river, she fell. Further he was not included in all of the detail they had.
Going back to tracking apps - just because NB wasn’t tracking her walk on strava, there’s no reason why she wasn’t tracking it on another app like mapmywalk. Maybe the walk was tracked on that and they can see that it ended at the bench. I know this still doesn’t mean that NB had the phone between 9.10-9.20 but if there is clear path and no weird looking tracking line just after 9.10, maybe they have assumed that it was still NB holding the phone. JMO. This still wouldn’t account for the period from 9.20-9.33 but maybe that’s when the accident happened. Again MOO.Eg Strava, MyFitnessPal, Runkeeper or other Fitbit compatible app logged into NB’s account. The tricky bit in this case is finding the device in the first place, especially if it’s underwater.

I think it was a bit on the defensive side because of all the negative comments on social media regarding the police. Hence exp!aiming all that had been and was being done in great detail.I found the press conference a bit on the defensive side, stating that the case has been reviewed by the NCA as being satisfactorily carried out, nothing has been done wrong or missed.

Yes. It will take some time to work though all that even with the benefit of modern technology.I read that The Police said 700 vehicles ‘that morning’ which I hope means between 9am and 12 noon rather than some condensed window of presumed opportunity.
Contacting car owners spotted in an area has not always yielded swift results in UK serious enquiries as the Cannock Chase Murders and Yorkshire Ripper Murders showed. Between them Morris and Sutcliffe stacked up 13 routine police interviews before being caught.
Yes interesting theory, that - but what's the theory for how the harness got in the water (given that the dog was dry) - it kind of negates that for me.Interesting points

Yep.So they’re wanting footage from a possible exit point being the entry point she used?

The only thing is the ingress/egress of the lane looks partially blocked driving over the bridge from the Blackpool direction. I think any useful dashcam if any will have to come from cars coming from the Garstang direction.Yep.
Ive not been in here for a few days. Has there been another press conference or are you referring to the one several days ago?I found the press conference a bit on the defensive side, stating that the case has been reviewed by the NCA as being satisfactorily carried out, nothing has been done wrong or missed.
