Dr Harkness said because the night of June 8 was a "traumatic event", his memory of entering the unit room was "quite fresh" and he explains there were three babies in the nursery room 1 - the intensive care unit, at the time, and two of them would have been Child A and Child B. He describes which incubators they would have been in, which are adjacent to each other.
A video of the layout of the nursery room one is played to the court and Dr Harkness confirms where Child A and Child B would have been located.

Recap: Lucy Letby trial, Thursday, October 20

so we had a description of baby A's location, I haven't been able to find the same testimony for baby C but I'll carry on and see what I can find.

If guilty

Her "frustration"/anger is becoming a pattern too for me:
- frustrated after the text
-frustrated after mother suddenly came to the room
-frustrated when parents told her to leave the room.

IMO she might have longed for/sought the same attention/fuss she received in Liverpool when the patient died.

But then she was in training/junior in Liverpool, so it was obvious they tried to help her there.

JMO

And if guilty, it's possible she longed for the same frequency of deaths that she'd witnessed at Liverpool, so started to recreate that frequency at Chester. If guilty IMO

I get the impression that she was going through a particularly unhinged phase at this time, similar to in the later cases. It's also reflected in text messages the concern colleagues had about her MH at that time in particular.

Yes, if guilty, there does seem to be something that triggers a cluster of attacks in June.

Is June an important time of the year in hospitals? Do they get new doctors or nurses at that time of year? Or give out awards to existing staff? Or scout out people for promotion?

ALl IMO

Possibly frustrated when Doc Choc went to the Tea room with Dr Tea...

IO, if guilty

Ms Ellis said she didn't do or see anything being done to correct the desat and bradycardia, as Child C self corrected.
She added she then sat at a computer which faced a wall, with Child C behind, out of view.

So it seems baby C wasn't in the same incubator space as baby A.

If nurse was at the computer facing a wall with the cot behind her, that is the furthest space on the left in room 1. If Dr Harkness described the twins being in incubators side by side that must have been on the back wall of room 1 as you enter, where there is space for two.

or maybe not, I can't be sure tbh. It does look like that's the case on the floor plan.

Not only that, IMO the staff would do everything they could to avoid using that space for a while out of consideration for the parents of Babies A & B.

SHOs rotate in August. Nursing staff don't get awards or get targeted for promotion - if a job becomes available they just apply for it in the same way external candidates do.

Sorry, but dismissing the spike of patients' deaths as "bad luck" sounds really unprofessional and nonchalant to me :(

@katydid23 thank you for transcribing all these podcasts!

Going back to the previous comments about demeanor being able to be seen and assessed if the actual videos were played; surely having all this acted out by two members of the prosecution could be seen as prejudicial as it would be argued that whatever demeanor they exhibited would likely be different to that of LL?

I dont like it ..for either side ..the jury should get to see for themselves

Yes I agree ..I've thought for a while if guilty the babies had become methods of meeting her own needs that varied

Then again, if you were being interviewed by the police on suspicion of murder what else would say?

Just my own opinion, but I find this making things much too personal & completely OTT.

""Because I think when you are going to the same incubator space and there is a different baby there you know you let the one you lost go. Until you go into that space, you see that baby until another baby goes in there."

Well only a minute before that she was agreeing that the insulin was suspicious, so I would perhaps at least expect her to say 'something suspicious is going on'

From what I saw reported today, the police officer asked her a leading question at that point. From Dan O'Donoghue's tweet:

The officer said 'you dealt with all of these, what do you put that down to, bad luck?’

She said ‘yes’

A selection of LL's texts

LL: "Not the vented baby necessarily, I just feel I need to be in 1, to get the image out of my head. To be in 3 is eating me up. All I can see is him in 1. It probably sounds odd but it's how I feel x"

LL: "C is the little 800g baby. He went off very suddenly. I know it happens but it's so sad and cruel isn’t it. X” “I just keep seeing them both. No one should have to see and do the things we do. It’s heartbreaking.”

LL: I keep thinking of them both in the cot together, so peaceful yet beyond words how awful it is.

I’m not going to lie I have picked up on the reoccurring self doubt as a feature in ll life. Obviously tied in to the seeking of reassurance, I think it’s tied to her use of the word “killed” in the confession notes, I don’t think she has ever claimed there wasn’t potential for her practice to be wrong and that’s why she says it like that, in other words “as far as I know I haven’t done anything wrong” The word wrong covers both morality and authorised practice. There are other things that make me think it but cannot remember atm. another example is her use of the words “on purpose“ in the confession note.
Well, there is no way she could have accidentally created 22 collapse incidents, requiring resuscitation to bring them back to life. I doubt that excuse will cut it. JMO
