GUILTY UK - Patricia Holland, 83, Gorleston, Norfolk, found deceased, 24 July 2021 *ARREST*

Announced today that he's been found unfit to enter a plea after his psych report, adjourned til Feb 21st and he has to have another report done. They've also set a trial date for June 6th.

That will come after her inquest too. I wonder if that is going to influence his plea, if cause of death still undetermined, as per previous - see posts above with links.

Nothing on for Monday. Wonder if still 'unfit'?

@Lasttime - I have been lurking this thread for updates. I, too, knew Allan personally, but it was way back when he still had his house in lowestoft. When I first met him he was an eccentric, amazing, electric person. Absolutely captivating, intelligent, creative. Perhaps he had just hidden his drug use well from me at this point.

But somewhere between about 2008/09 I noticed he went massively downhill with mental health, and I too witnessed him smoking heroin. His behaviour was appalling. He was a different person. he started having young girls over and would give them drugs in hopes of being able to have sex with them. I got in to quite a few vulnerable situations with him and I am so lucky that I got away before I got hurt. I know he had violent tendencies even back then and had been known to slash up furniture in fits of rage etc. He really, really scared me at points.

Before this happened, I had a gut feeling that something might occur with him - overdose, suicide, getting in to trouble. I didn't think it would be murder. It is so tragic, I thought even he was above this.

Thank you for sharing your personal insight into this. He sounds like quite a complex yet troubled person but it also seems like he has repeated this type of behaviour for many years....befriending someone, moving in with them, outstaying his welcome and then becoming violent. We still do not know what he actually did to Pat as only partial remains have been found so it sounds like you did have a lucky escape!

He is a very complex, very ill, very arrogant man. I am certain he is a narcissist. I think I was about 16 or 17 when I first met him. I was so very under his spell at points, early on. He was good at using his charm to get people to like him and help him, but only later showing his true colours.

I am aware that there aren't any pics of him about. I don't know how appropriate or relevant it might be but if it might be useful to anyone I have pictures of him from back when I knew him. I would be happy to share if useful.

Very interesting, @Birdnesthair

I wonder where we are going with this case as seems a lack of updates from local press.

I have found the lack of publicity interesting, personally. His sister (who is many years his junior) is a journalist who worked for the local papers for some time. I wondered if there is a connection there.

I wonder if we know each other. I think it was around then that I was involved with him. That house is the house of horrors for me. I can't walk past it without reliving everything that happened in it. I'm glad you don't seem to of suffered the way I did or the way this poor woman did.
I was one of those girls. Not plied with drugs but vulnerable and taken advantage of. I saw every side of him and honestly he's extremely intelligent and manipulative. He was definitely violent and aggressive too, I have clear memories of him throwing a chair at my head over drugs. He had a lodger when I knew him, I say lodger the guy slept in his shed.
I can't even articulate myself properly when I talk about him because it's like where do I start?
Like you I honestly thought he'd of died and I know others thought the same.
Interesting insight about his sister, I didn't know he had one. In regards to case updates I noticed the date given and the date stated in the article for the last hearing where a couple of months apart so I'm wondering if it's the same again.
Also I've found pictures of him online when I've looked for updates so there is a few out there.

Yes, his sister is possible 12-15 years younger than him I believe. I don't want to publicly mention her name as she has seemed to keep to herself & built herself up professionally, though would be happy to talk more about her. He used to have pics with her up on MySpace & he had a school photo of her in his house on the windowsill of his side window, if that rings any bells.

Interesting - I remember he had a female lodger at one point (who was definitely vulnerable & I was very very fearful for, though never met myself), and I know his cousin lodged with him at one point (though he was definitely in the house, when I was around at least).

If you are the female lodger I am thinking of then I remember clearly who you are, but I never met you. There were extended periods when I tried to 'hide' from him.

In particular, after an incident in what you really aptly call the house of horrors where he forced himself on me at a 'soiree' as he called it. Thank god it didn't escalate, i made it through the night and I got away pretty lightly. The thought that you hadn't been that lucky breaks my heart.

I really feel the urge to talk about this with someone who was in a similar situation with him. Please let me know if you want to have a conversation. I totally understand if not, I just feel the need to bounce off of someone who has been there xx

I've just seen an update on the local news site. Still unfit to plea and as a result the trial date of the 6th of June has been cancelled and he's got to see another psychiatrist and they'll be doing a case management hearing.
I can't even begin to imagine how frustrated Pats family feel right now.

The trial of a man accused of the murder of an 83-year-old woman will not go ahead this summer.

Allan Scott, 41, had been due to stand trial at Norwich Crown Court on June 6 having been charged with the murder of Patricia Holland in July last year.

Scott, formerly of Lowestoft Road, Gorleston, appeared on Monday (May 16) when the court was told the defendant was still unfit to enter a plea.

Philip McGhee, prosecuting, said it followed the prognosis of two psychiatrists, with the defendant - who is also charged with preventing burial of a dead body - set to see another psychiatrist on May 25.

The prosecutor said it meant there would be an application to vacate the current June trial date.

He said it was a "regrettable position" but said a date needed to be set for a further case management hearing.

Judge Alice Robinson vacated the trial date and ordered the case be mentioned again on June 6.

Both this one, and the other Gorleston murder of Linda Hood, having trials delayed through psychiatric reports.

Judge Robinson on both.

So he's obviously finally been found fit to plead, I was just looking for updates when I found he has plead not guilty with the trial due to last three weeks starting 20th Feb 2023

The trial of a man accused of the murder of an 83-year-old woman will now take place next year.

Allan Scott, 41, had been due to stand trial at Norwich Crown Court in January this year and then this month having been charged with the murder of Patricia Holland in July last year.

But Scott, formerly of Lowestoft Road, Gorleston, has been found unfit to enter a plea and the trial due to go ahead on Monday (June 6) was 'vacated'.

Scott, who is also charged with preventing burial of a dead body, appeared at court on Tuesday (June 7) via videolink when a new trial date was fixed.

A trial, expected to last three weeks, was set for February 20 next year by Judge Alice Robinson.

Judge Robinson ordered a further hearing, for an update on the defendant's fitness to plead, to take place on July 25 this year.

Philip McGhee, appeared for the prosecution.
