GUILTY UK - Phoenix Netts, 28, found in suitcase, Gloucestershire, 12 May 2020

It's intriguing- I can't believe he got bail. The police must have been very convinced he was an unwitting participant.

I'm from Birmingham - Jess worked extensively in the DV charity sector before standing for parliament. She has strong ties with both DV & WMPolice. I doubt very much she mispoke.

I think she's being mindful (rightly) of sub judice & the reporting injunction that we *think* is probably in place.

Hi all, first post.

The Libby Squire disappearance bought me to Websleuths and I have been following many cases on here ever since, however I have only recently signed up so I can contribute.

This specific case has me really puzzled. I live in Gloucestershire and have friend's from the Forest area.

The link is from the local newspaper regarding the upcoming trial (hope I have done this correctly)

Hi Lindsay and welcome to WS

I have just snipped a section from your link above which I found interesting.
As he was cleared of charges, I have blocked out his name.

Last month, lawyers acting for 39-year-old co-defendant ****** ******** from Wolverhampton successfully argued to have a charge of assisting an offender dismissed against him.

The move was opposed by the Crown Prosecution Service, who confirmed after the hearing that the father-of-two taxi driver and handyman was no longer facing criminal charges in connection with the case

Thank you so much.

I spotted this too and hadn't seen this reported elsewhere. Infact there is very little information around this case.

I haven’t found any updates as to when the April trial will forward.

Do you mean when the trial will start? (Apologies if I have misunderstood) Looking at all the MSM articles the trial is due to begin April 26th 2021 at Bristol Crown Court.
It will be interesting to see what details are released during the trial.

I am so intrigued by this case. There has been very little information. I wonder if the accused was previously given some sort of new identity due to her past or people she may have previously been involved with? It would certainly explain the lack of MSM reporting / photos.

That’s actually an interesting idea. Or if a person was fleeing domestic violence for example, then I guess they might not have any social media or online presence at all in order to keep their location secret.

Woman admits murdering Phoenix Netts after body found in Forest of Dean
''Gareeca Conita Gordon, also 28, pleaded guilty to murdering Netts between 14 April and 12 May 2020. The women are believed to have lived in neighbouring rooms at a hostel for women in Birmingham.

Gordon was due to stand trial for Netts’s murder next week but appeared before Bristol crown court via video link from Eastwood Park women’s prison in Gloucestershire to admit the charge.

No details of the motive for the killing or circumstances were given in court and Gordon, who spoke only to confirm her identity and plead guilty, will be sentenced next month. Judge Peter Blair QC, the recorder of Bristol, remanded Gordon in custody''.

''Gordon, who was wearing glasses and a brown sweatshirt, will be sentenced by the high court judge Mrs Justice Cutts at Bristol crown court on 4 May.''

Not that I would be interested in seeing it myself (happier to see the lovely pic of Phoenix), but I thought there might be a photo of GG here.
