GUILTY UK - Police Officer Andrew Harper killed by burglars, Berkshire, 15 August 2019

Sad is the wrong word then. It does worry me though that certain communities are brought up to be criminals, have no respect for people and property and have such a lack of education.

These three have been praised and called heroes by their family whilst taunting his wife. I cannot see any chance of rehabilitating in this case.

Two of PC Harper's killers launch appeals against their convictions

Two of the three teenagers jailed for killing PC Andrew Harper have launched appeals against their manslaughter convictions.

Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole, both 18, have lodged applications with the Court of Appeal seeking permission to challenge their convictions and their 13-year prison sentences.

No date has been set for the hearing of the appeals.

It came as PC Harper's widow, Lissie Harper, launched a petition to show the level of public support for tougher jail terms for people who kill emergency services workers.

They are vile and so are their families. No respect for anyone or anything. I feel sorry for PC Harper’s wife and family, especially as they had to endure watching these evil people celebrate getting off with manslaughter.

They have shown no remorse and there is very little possibility of them ever being rehabilitated. And now they’re appealing their paltry sentences. It makes me so angry.

Stupid little tossers. Why are they in the same prison? They need to be split up pronto.

That's what I thought, should've been split!

The leader of the group of teenagers who killed PC Andrew Harper should have been given a life sentence rather than the 16 years he received, while his accomplices should also have their jail terms increased from 13 years each, a court has heard.

The attorney general argued that the sentences handed to Henry Long, 19, and the 18-year-olds Jessie Cole and Albert Bowers were all unduly lenient, during a court of appeal hearing on Monday.

“PC Harper paid the ultimate price for his bravery and this should be reflected in the sentence,” Suella Braverman QC said in a written submission. “These are sentences that have caused and continue to cause widespread public concern. It appears to me that the sentences passed on the offenders were unduly lenient.”

The hearing before Dame Victoria Sharp, Lord Justice Holroyde and Mr Justice William Davis continues.

But at least the scumbags have had their own appeals thrown out too.
