Ouch! I can sympathize Michelle, broke a molar eating some yummy ribs 3 months ago and just now getting over the jaw pain of reconstruction of that tooth. Hope your tooth gets better soon, there's not much worse pain than a bad tooth.

This is scary. No sleep going on here today I think.

Spain cancels flights to London amid fear of terrorist attack

The Spanish airline Iberia said Thursday that it was canceling flights to London's Heathrow Airport until noon after British police announced early Thursday they had thwarted a terrorist plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight.

Iberia said it had canceled two flights from Madrid and one each from Barcelona and Bilbao, following a request made by British airports authorities in the wake of the discovery of the terrorist plot.

Oh, I know it is hard on our countries to suffer such losses. I thought I would never stop crying after 9/11. I will never forget what I was doing that day. I had started out the day crying because it was the 1 yr anniversary of my oldest cat's death. I was at the computer trying to pick out a cheerful birthday e-card for K while I was crying about my cat. The TV was on and I looked up to see a plane fly into the tower and my mouth flew open. I knew immediately it was no accident. I was afraid to leave the house that night to keep the dinner reservations we had for K's BDay dinner, but my hubby convinced me I had to go, not to let her down. I went to downtown Dallas that night, but I was scared, I hid it from her though.
I have Alan Jackson on cd singing Where where you.....and I have tears I choke up...I remember when the Towers were hit....hubby and I stayed up all night in disbelief....Our local newspaper came out the next day with a drawing of our kangaroo covering the eyes of your eagle while the towers crumbled..it still brings tears to my eyes.

I was in the city the Tuesday before 9/11.....I remember looking back on the towers as I was headed home on the bus. The glass was a beautiful blue. I said, "Look, because it will be awhile before we see them again".......I saw them again that morning on TV. Like you I felt shock. We have to remember that day....because it was our lesson to "be aware" and to "be on guard"....Now, here we see today.....it just might not be over in our lifetime. Our lives were forever changed that September day. We can never be as soft and secure country as we were before. A sad time for America.
Did we know it would happen again.....Yes! Because at one point before 9/11 they said they "would get us on our own land"......those words burned inside me. I wondered what that meant. Was our country taking that serious?.....
I guess they didn't because we had a big, horrific event.
America has to be strong....and now and forever ......work hard to stay safe.

Wow, the kangaroo and eagle drawing sounds really nice. I wish I could see it. Maybe I can google it up. I was just now watching some 9/11 videos on "You Tube", ran across them while trying to find new video from today, didn't find any from today.

LONDON - British authorities said Thursday they had thwarted a terrorist plot to simultaneously blow up several aircraft heading to the U.S. using explosives smuggled in hand luggage, averting what police described as “mass murder on an unimaginable scale.” Meantime, a U.S. counterterrorism official called the plot "the real deal."

Officials raised security to its highest level in Britain — suggesting a terrorist attack might be imminent — and banned hand-carried luggage on all trans-Atlantic flights. Huge crowds formed at security barriers at London’s Heathrow airport as officials searching for explosives barred nearly every form of liquid outside of baby formula.

The extreme measures at one of the major international aviation hubs sent ripple effects throughout the world. Heathrow airport was closed to most flights from Europe
The U.S. government responded by raising its threat alert to its highest level for commercial flights from Britain to the United States amid fears the plot had not been completely crushed. The alert for all flights coming or going from the United States was also raised slightly.
At Chicago airports, the terror alert level was raised to orange, requiring all bags to be screened. Chicago aviation commissioner Nuria Fernandez said the only exceptions to the ban on liquids would be breast milk and fruit juices for small and nursing children. She urged passengers to arrive early for flights and to consider not bringing carryon luggage.

Some passengers were surprised by the ban on flying with liquids at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Baby formula and medicine had to be presented for inspection.

Two men were charged Wednesday with money laundering in support of terrorism after authorities said they found airplane passenger lists and information on airport security checkpoints in their car.

Deputies stopped Osama Sabhi Abulhassan, 20, and Ali Houssaiky, 20, both of Dearborn, Mich., on a traffic violation Tuesday and found the flight documents along with $11,000 cash and 12 phones in their car, Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said.

It wasn’t clear what significance the airline information might have. Assistant County Prosecutor Susan Vessels declined to comment on whether the manifests were for upcoming flights or those that already flown. She also would not give the origin or destination of the flight or flights.

I wonder if this could be realted to the ones arrested in the UK? On a link from the above article I found this:

FBI spokesman Mike Brooks in Cincinnati said his office was investigating.

Abulhassan and Houssaiky admitted buying about 600 phones in recent months at stores in southeast Ohio, said sheriff's Maj. John Winstanley. They sold the phones to someone in Dearborn, Winstanley said.

Vessels declined to say how the phones, cash or flight information involved terrorism.

Investigators going through the car after the pair were pulled over in Marietta also found a map that showed locations of Wal-Mart stores from Ohio through Kentucky, Tennessee and into North and South Carolina, Vessels said.

This is so bizarre. About 2 weeks ago I was in a Dollar General store and overheard a couple of clerks talking. 2 men had just been in the store and bought all of the prepaid cell phones that they had. The one clerk said that they were acting very strange. She told me that they were in a van(white I think) with North Carolina tags. She described them as dark skin males. She said she tried to get the tag number but couldn't.
Anyone have any ideas as to what could be done with so many cell phones?

I googled and googled, but couldn't find it. There are so many 9/11 images out there, and entering keywords like kangaroo, eagle, australia didn't help narrow it down either. If you run across it and want to scan it I would love to see it though. The classic eagle with a tear in it's eye always gets to me, saw lot's of different versions of that one. I'm getting all teary eyed now. :(

The way I understand it from reading at Michelle Malkin's place, they can use the cell phones to make detonators for bombs! Also gangs like to use them because cops can't trace the prepaid cell phones. http://michellemalkin.com/archives/005695.htm

Geez, I can't even imagine how bad it must be if Britain isn't going to allow ANY carry-on's at all, including PURSES. I'm not sure I could travel without my purse!

Mee too, I looked and looked....I would love to get a print of this. I have the one done here locally in Atlanta, it shows the Statue of Liberty shedding tears, you can see the towers and plane hitting them in the reflection of her eyes....gives me goosebumps everytime I see it!
