UK: 'Possible human remains' found in Loch Lomond

  • #21
Detectives have launched an investigation after the discovery of "possible human remains" in Loch Lomond.

Officers said the alarm was raised close to Rubha Dubh, at Firkin Point, at about 12:40 on Saturday.

The remains were removed from the scene for analysis.

Officers, a police van and a forensics vehicle remained at the scene on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Extensive inquiries are ongoing."

Looks like Grahams neighbour has killed Lewis and as the heat of Lewis been missing has intensified the neighbour has killed Graham as a potential witness to a connection between him and Lewis that’s my theory

Certainly looks like the neighbour has killed them and transported Graham in the hired van that he later set on fire.

Just to summarize the timeline of publicly available facts for anyone coming to this story cold as there are a lot of moving parts to this evolving case:

- on 4th August 25 year old Lewis Cuthbert disappeared - he was last seen on Lesmahagow Road in Strathaven (Strathaven is a small village around 25 miles south of Glasgow)
- on 25th August 38 year old Graham Wright was reported missing. He had last been seen 5 days previously on Cumberland Street in the Gorbals area of Glasgow where he resided
- on 13th September human remains were found in the Rubha Dubh area of Loch Lomond (around 35 miles northwest of Glasgow City centre). The remains are later identified as Graham Wright - his death is described as "unexplained"
- between 13th and 24th of September Police Scotland search properties in Rutherglen (a southeastern suburb of Glasgow), Stonehouse (a village to a few miles from Strathaven, where Lewis Cuthbert disappeared from) and the Gorbals (next door to Graham Wright's home)
- Late September: Police question the resident of the property in Stonehouse (apparently a schoolteacher in his mid 30s). He is described as a "potential witness". Neighbours report his home had recently been subject to a vandalism attack.
- Late September: Locals around the house in Rutherglen that has been searched claim that Police officers had questioned them about both the murder of Graham Wright and the disappearance of Lewis Cuthbert
- Late September: Police are seeking Graham Wright's neighbour, who has apparently disappeared. His mobile phone has been "discarded", and Police have linked him to a burnt out hire van found in Glasgow.
- Late September: Police cordon off an area of woodland and a property in Castlemilk (a southern suburb of Glasgow a few miles from Rutherglen), with an intensive search apparently ongoing

Strange case. I live in Strathaven. A Glasgow crime 'newspaper' called The Digger done a story on it the other day. They article said that the neighbour that set the van on fire and has gone missing, is the ex partner of the teacher. And vandalised his home and was found guilty of that earlier this year. The teacher works in Strathaven 🤔

I don't have a link to The Digger. I read the old school paper version in work. And it's £20 to read it online. But the sun basically says the same, just doesn't name them and picture the 'missing' neighbour like The Digger did.

If the missing neighbour is the one said to be involved with the teacher it would mean he would have 3 properties, 1 in the gorbals, 1 in rutherglen and 1 in castlemilk while not impossible highly unlikely unless the one in castlemilk is a family members home as they said he packed a bag and left. Although would still mean he had 2 properties not impossible just not adding up for me.

So looks like we are getting somewhere, looks like James mcgintys flat is the one in rutherglen and the house in stone house may be a family home, which makes me think that the guy who has not been named (James Dunn)’s flat was one in the gorbals next door to Graham wright and the flat in castlemilk will be a family members flat, taking a bit more shape now

The house in Stonehouse is the teacher's. There was never any info released on if Lewis has a car. There is no train station in Strathaven, and 1 hourly bus to Glasgow that only accepts card payment. I've seen him on the bus before.

My theory is that he got picked up by the teacher when he finished work at the school , as he was last seen at 4pm. And the teacher's ex is obviously an angry man, since there was a restraining order against him.

The digger is naming the teacher as James mcginty 36 and alluding that flat in rutherglen is his? Possibly he had rented this flat to?

What’s interesting is the police are only looking for dash cam footage from the 1st to 13th of September on A82, so this must be the window of the hire van, bearing in mind that both boys have been last sighted early late August respectively

I'm a little confused by that Digger front page, is the flat in Kirkhill another that is being searched?

It seems odd that the sub headline references both Rutherglen and Kirkhill. The picture on the front page looks very much like the flats at Croft Road in Kirkhill, which if you know that area of greater Glasgow is definitely Cambuslang rather than Rutherglen.

I think they are suggesting kirkhill is an area of rutherglen. Em I have re read the digger now and confused myself slightly, so the teacher unnamed is 36, and digger names James Mginty as 36 but living in the flat in rutherglen but having a restraint order for disorderly conduct in stone house so this would mean James mcginty and the teacher were the partners. And the teachers name would be James Dunn.

If this is the case where does the missing man in 50s come in ?

Another thing I have overlooked is that a body was found in calderglen park on September 13 the same day as Graham. Now this body has still not been identified and is not far from strathaven could this be Lewis? Could this be why cops don’t need footage after 13th, both bodies dumped in van, and unexplained status due to Ghb poisoning? This case is so interesting

I think the teacher is in his 50's. I could be wrong, but I think possibly a mistake in the digger. McGinty has been charged with breaching the restraining order last week at the house in Stonehouse.

I’m sure a teacher would be at risk of losing his job for such acts?

Unless he had house/family house in stonehouse and a bolthole in the city for the gay scene? It’s well documented that teacher is 36 and helping with inquiries. But both houses are boarded up one in stonehouse and one in rutherglen so has he actually been remanded in custody and police not letting on? and those houses are secured as scenes of crime?

Could there be truth in the hearsay stuff from the digger about the drug induced sex stuff? Also the previous argument being called a peadophile. That screams of jealous ex and younger model such as Lewis 25 etc.

Right so if the teacher is the older man, and is helping who is the missing man in his 50s.

I think the teacher is the man in his 50s and he has a house and a flat in the city (gorbals) for the gay scene, I think he is detained and the police are coming out with a bluff to try and get to the bottom of it.
