I still can’t get over only just hearing about this case now, in 2025

What else have they done? It's rare for such extreme barbarity to be a first offence. RIP Preston

Trial started this week, haven't seen any new reports.
Are there reporting restrictions?

It is very hard to follow the developments Preston’s case because what happened to him is too unbearable to read. I can’t understand the evil someone could have inside them to hurt a child. It’s cases like Preston’s that make me wish the U.K still had the death penalty. If convicted neither of them deserve to be free again.

I suspect that ALLEGEDLY
the adoption had nothing to do with having a child
but having an easily accessible victim to abuse.

How come these monsters were not checked when the little boy landed in hospital with broken elbow?

He was perfectly healthy before this pair laid their hands on him.

But surprise, surprise!
The boy suddenly developed health issues after these guys "adopted" him.

Are there not post adoption checks in the UK?

And guess what??
The defendant was a TEACHER!!!

Disgusting case.

RIP little Angel :(

Today Oldham Council (not their first likely failure on CSA issues, see the grooming gangs) and Preston's foster parents have given evidence.

It is shocking to think that he turned up in hospital multiple times including with a broken elbow and the doctor/s didn't think this should be reported to social services. Surely it will have been logged on the system each time he was being brought in and they should have noticed something a bit odd about how frequently he was being brought in with new injuries? Seems like so many people who had a duty to protect Preston completely failed him.

Imagine being one of his former pupils and finding out what a monster he is.

On July 6, the social worker received a Facetime call from Mr Varley saying he was worried about Preston’s arm. Mr Varley was ‘grey’ and looked ‘beside himself’, she says. He was ‘teary’ and said Preston ‘appeared in pain.’

He said he had unintentionally hurt Preston, she says. He offered the explanation that Preston had woken in the night and was stood up in his cot. Jamie had gone to comfort him. “He held his hands to guide him back down. When he did that Preston had twisted and he heard a sound that sounded like a knee clicking," she says.

"Preston had then gone back to sleep, he hadn't cried through the night, but when he had woken Preston was reluctant to use his arm. That’s when Jamie had called me."

She said Preston was reluctant to reach out and hold things or to use his arm when he was crawling, which she saw on the video call. She advised Preston should be taken to hospital and was later told that had happened.

Records show Preston was discharged home about 11.30pm.

Ms Shepherdson arranged a further home visit.
Maybe the fact that they needed prompting to take him to hospital should have been a bit of a red flag that these were not fit and proper people to take care of a child?

How have I missed this case totally.
I have to agree with you and hope that all the ‘teachers’ ex pupils have been questioned about his conduct. I wonder what age group he was working with? Makes you shudder to think
