UK - Prince Andrew accused of underage sexual relationship, 1999-2002 *settled* #2

Point is he settled without demanding that the photo be produced and analysed, after denying he'd never met her.
Go figure......

Not sure that is correct.

My understanding is that she settled when she could not produce said photo.

He was foolish to lie in that interview but being a liar does not make one guilty of anything other than lying.

They're both ok with this going away until the Jubilee. Neither is really looking to hurt the Queen or the monarchy as an institution.

On a local radio station here in Ohio, they were comparing the Queen to the Godfather, "How much will it take to make this go away?"

Boies said the other day the photo wasnt lost and was with the FBI which isnt what VG herself said in the deposition. She said it had been returned and was at a relatives house. I think the interview cost him dearly but yes you are right in what you said :)

to be frank the woman is nearly 96 and has just lost her husband and is losing weight rapidly. We also know she was hospitalized and seems to have had problems since then. The other day she said to the two people who had gone to see her she couldnt even move. It could simply be they want the rest of her reign to go as peaceful as possible and realistically the Jubilee will likely be the last big event she does so...in that respect I understand why he would been pressured to settle.

It does seem like she's finalizing things to turn over the reins to Charles.

I agree unfortunately especially with the remarks she made the other week about the fullness of time. I think Andrew may be a selfish ignorant oaf but that he does care about his mother.

I mean...does it actually give him anything to have the title?

no it doesnt...and the SNP hate the English...go and figure

So it's disrespect AND not really of any benefit. He needs to let the title go.

Daily Mail insider source reveals how it all went down (probably):

PC: Oh for gawd's sake, Andy, our poor mother is in her last moments!
A: It's a matter of principle, Charlie!
PC: Can't you bloody think of somebody else for once in your borish life!?
A: But but but I need Mummy right now!
PW: Stop being a cad, Uncle Andy!
A: This isn't fair!
PC: Enough!
A: Fine, but you owe me one, Charlie!
PC: For Christ's sake!
PW: You're disgusting, Uncle Andy.
PC: Settle down, William.
A: Ha! You got told!
PW: *rolls eyes*
PC: Enough! The dreadful thing is settled!

to be fair...the Mail is a joke full of sources and friends said...but not high on actual facts. I do believe it was partly down to Charles though and I do believe his mum featured in the reasoning though.

Is it actually up to him though? i dont know how it works to be honest but some have to be removed by Parliament. He cant just remove it himself or some titles at least.

It was a joke about the DM. These dialogues are never serious. In your defense, the humor is hard to convey through cyber communication.
