UK - Prince Andrew accused of underage sexual relationship, 1999-2002 *settled* #2

You know what I was thinking? That the British royals need to modernize themselves. They just wait for everything to be provided for them, hardly anyone gets a real education and a real job, and then, they have a lifestyle to maintain. If they only followed in the footsteps of the Dutch royals, their lives would have been much better. Former Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, herself very rich, had provided for all three of her sons, all of whom got some really serious education. And the two that were not to succeed got real jobs. I am sure their being royal didn't hurt, but they did get jobs and worked. And their mother probably provided them with trust funds. That would be fair in my opinion.

Now if Andrew (or Harry for that matter) had not been allowed to goof off and got a real education AND his mother had settled money on him, he might actually have gotten a real job and wouldn't have to approach crooks to fund his lifestyle. True, he doesn't appear to be a very clever man, but he would have at least been able to do something, and one can actually cultivate intellect. Nothing major to turn them into Einstein, but enough to go through life in a much more reasonable way. This one doesn't seem to get it, the government doesn't interfere to tell him he is under no circumstances to approach anyone, and maybe he is trying to blackmail his brother was well.

Anyway, just my two cents.

That's literally what William and Harry's children are doing, I think it's great.

I don't understand why Andrew is "desperate" for funds....he and Fergie could life more simply and be fine financially. Nobody needs a 30 room house!

Getting an education so that they can have their own lives and careers

George is next in immediate line to the throne after his father, followed by his siblings. That decision is made by birthright. George, Charlotte and Louis are attending school just like their parents and as all of royals before them have.

I’m not sure what you mean by a career and education that ‘they are choosing’. They are too young to make that decision and there is nothing different about the education they are receiving.

Harry’s kids are under five years old so they aren’t making any career choices either. He and Markle have chosen a life in the US. It hasn’t been made public if their children are in conventional education, homeschool or otherwise.

A sense of Entitlement.

Good to see this.

It is apparent to the rest of the world that Prince Andrew is not and has never been any kind of businessman. He has only been a conduit for influence and introductions under the Royal fairydust titles that allowed him to pretend to represent UK business. The greasy palm.

He was not educated in business or any such skill, nor has he ever actually run a business at all. He has been a military commander and that was evidently a good niche to put him in for his adult years. But let just be honest, he has only ever been a figurehead and a weak access point for influence. In the best of times it would be gas or oil dictator or their relatives that would pay for access to big names in UK business, like the Kazakhstan fellow that severely overpaid for the home the Yorks were given by the late Queen Elizabeth.

Then there was the air miles Andy fiasco when he just flew about on the UK's dime visiting Mideastern oil billionaires and golfing with them as " business"

Now it has changed from purely inept influence peddling to the inevitable involvement of spies and infiltrators of antagonous foreign governements that is a true danger.

Andrew doesn't have a sod of intelligence or a fart of good sense or caution.

Give him the keys to Frogmore Cottage and the pony barn at Windsor and let him sulk.

Add to this the Epstein horror. He continued his friendship with him after he was told not to. He was also photographed with the teenager at that time and he had to answer for that.

He has no business being in any leadership role.

Or in any role with access or influence to politics, royalty, or any business entity.

Re Andrew (and Harry) seeming to be unable to get and hold a proper job, I feel I must stand up for Andrew a little bit. (Never happened before, and unlikely to ever happen again!) But as we've all come to believe, his IQ is pretty low, and I think he is/was incapable of more education than what he had. Which was at Gordonstoun, and then naval college. That actually seems to me a pretty good choice for him. And apparently he did well in the Falklands war. Maybe he should have stayed in the military. Or if he had not been royal, perhaps he could have run a pub, or been a low-level manager of something. It is his tragedy that he was born into a family where much is expected, and he is incapable of doing it.

The Royals have never had expectations of holding a proper job.

They do not live life as do regular people, they live a very spoiled life from cradle to grave.

Where did you find Prince Andrew’s IQ?

Link please.

I’d think that would be a very private matter unknown to most.

Both of his daughters are graduates of universities, he cannot be too thick.

IMO, he is just very spoilt due to being a son of the late Queen Elizabeth.

"Prince Andrew
enjoys his weekly ride through the Windsor estate -
hours before new documentary on his finances due to broadcast.

The documentary questions Prince Andrew's financial burdens,
and examines how they have shaped his life as he struggles to maintain his lavish lifestyle.

It also explores
'revelations about Andrew's ties to an alleged Chinese spy,
shedding light on potential financial and diplomatic entanglements',
the broadcaster said.

'At the centre of this story is Royal Lodge,
Andrew’s expansive residence in Windsor,
with its known annual costs estimated at more than half a million pounds."

IMO they are all a bit lacking in intellect considering the exceptional education they all had/have,
Plus they now are being forced to get an education as they have to actually get a job now except for the few at the top of the pile
vive le revolution I say

Considering most of them went to University I can not see how they are lacking in intellect tbh. They all had further education regardless of their position in the family
