I dont know what to make of it, just thought it was interesting, was a bit shocked when I read it.

There are a lot of things I don't like about all of this. :( Something definitely seems "not right".

I may be cynical but sounds like an excuse for blood in the house? I hope I'm wrong, but whenever I hear this, or 'she had a bad nosebleed' I get the shivers!

I dont find the father's latest appeal video very believable (the one with Joe Galsworthy, his younger brother), but time will tell I suppose.

I thought it was odd that the younger guy said "something could have happened on impulse"...what does that mean??? It makes me wonder if a family member or friend hurt her?

  • #105
Yeah that was really weird, I was waiting for him to explain himself, need to watch that again.

It's too much information, I'm pretty sure the police wouldn't have sanctioned that statement.

I have a feeling this one's going to end up like so many others. So far textbook.

I've taken a particularly keen interest in this as the girl and her family live round the corner from where I used to.. im surprised that its taken as long as it has to gain mainstream attention.

I'm holding out hope that there's a perfectly rationable explanation for her disappearance, I hate jumping to conclusions that its family although I know this is the case most times.

I would have thought most of the facts would be fairly easy to verify - if she stayed with a friend the previous night, what time she left there, who was where on the thursday morning etc. Step mom is supposedly the last one to see her but she texted boyfriend AFTER step mom left for appointment. That implies to me that if something untoward has happened to her then it had to have been between the last time she text boyfriend and the time she was reported missing.. not earlier in the day as I have seen be suggested elsewhere.

Also most phones, laptops and tablets can be tracked locationally nowadays...

Another thought - my phone, laptop and tablet are linked to the same google account so any bookmark, page visited open pages etc appear on ALL devices linked to the account.. just throwing it out there

Or it implies that texts were sent from her phone, not necessarily from her.

Interesting from the Daily Mail website:

Investigators are also looking at the girl’s mobile phone records in an attempt to trace her. The last person she was in contact with was boyfriend Luke Oberhansli, 17, who she texted in the morning to make plans for later that day.

What was being printed earlier, made it sound like she had contacted him after she had supposedly left the house around 11.15am. Earlier reports gave the impression (to me anyway) that he had received texts some time later, like the afternoon. IF the timing in the paper is correct, and they were sent in the MORNING, then those texts to the boyfriend could have been sent before Rebecca received the text from her best friend...... so again, texts sent from her phone after the last person other than family saw her.

Also, if she had text her boyfriend to make plans for later that day, why didn't he contact her parents when she supposedly didn't turn up?

Like YidArmyRach said, It doesn't necessarily mean the texts were from her though. "She" did read a text off her own best friend and didn't reply at all. Anyone can send a text off somebody's else's phone pretending to be them.

Yes admittedly anyone can .. just playing devils advocate, hate it when we are so quick to point fingers at family.

OT but has DG removed his FB page - can't find it.

Also, where is real mom? Is she in the picture? Does Becky have siblings? So much left unspoken

  • #111
DG's page is still there, profile pic is him splashing around in water. Dont think there is any info on her real Mum or siblings at the moment, although Becky's surname is not the same as her Dad's, but is the same as the grandmother that did the TV appeal.

Why did the family take over 28 hours to report her missing though? That's a long time to wait to report someone missing who's a "very shy girl who won't even go to a shop till alone". It's not like shes described as outgoing, loud & bubbly..

Her mum lives quite a bit away I think I remember reading. Can't be 100% on that though as I've read so many articles. Not seen any siblings mentioned.

Darren’s wife Anjie, 49, saw Becky on Thursday morning. She said: “She seemed ok and her normal self. There was nothing out of the blue. She was a bit grumpy, but that was not unusual - just a normal teenager.

“I went to a hospital appointment and left her at home at around 10.30am. We thought she might have gone and met her boyfriend and he had texted her to see if she wanted to met, but got no response. We texted her later in the day to see where she was but her phone was off.

“She hadn’t mentioned any plans, but would have just gone out if she had some, but she would have let us know at some point. The next day when she still hadn’t come home we contacted the police.”

Bit delicate and weird to Facebook that about your own daughter. Just my opinion. Seems like something to excuse her blood in the house. Again, JMO.

  • #119
Why would you ask mothers/partners etc to look for blood in ther sons/partners underwear. Dad obviously believes theres a sexual motive behind her disappearance (I'm assuming there's no implication on the familys part)

All weird and confusing indeed. Whatever it is its likely to come out in the end :)
