Ok so is he saying that they got a lift home from Southmead (possibly in a car) then he went with KD/JI to Filton to get a van

I still don't believe their excuse for going round to Becky's house that day either. To drop off a cake tin they borrowed. If they were Anjie's carers, they would have been going round to that house most days of the week, surely. So what's the rush to return a cake tin? Especially as they knew Anjie wasn't going to be there, as she had a hospital appointment.

Yet, despite knowing that Anjie was going to be out, and clearly had no urgent rush to get it back, they still took time out of their day to drop it off. Why not just wait and take it with you the next time you were going to the house?

Its very strange that they decided to return the cake tin at the very time that Becky was home, but nobody else was......... but ended up staying till the evening, even though they were just dropping it off.

I think the cake tin belonged to AGs mother ( MM ) - who was taking AG to the hospital appointment that day....
So, being as they clearly missed seeing AG before she and her mother departed to the hospital - this meant they would have to wait around until AG came back, with her mother, so that they could give the cake tin to the mother. ( which they could not do if they were off kidnapping Becky ! )

Unless of course they planned just to leave the cake tin in the house, with a note for MM.
But in that case, why not just leave the tin outside the door ? in one of the recycle boxes.

As a slightly off topic thought - I wonder what had been in the cake tin - I dont think SH or NM did any cooking, so was it something MM had made for them ?

having said all the above, I think their story is a load of b*ll anyway and the tin was an excuse.

Part of the right not to incriminate yourself, it is up to the prosecution to prove their case, you don't need to say a thing if you don't want to.

While that right is almost always best used when dealing with Police interviews, it can backfire spectacularly when used in court.

Ultimately it is down to the accused. The defence will advise them on what they believe is the best tactic but their clients don't always listen.

In this case I think SH and the defence have a very difficult choice, both options have equal numbers of pros and cons.

They returned to Matthews' house. JI stayed in hall. Matthews and KD went upstairs for "just enough for me to pack a suitcase" #beckywatts

We'd heard previosuly that he rang them again to ask about the moving packages separately, ie after they'd arranged to have a lift home.

here he's made it look like they went straight from dropping him and SH off to taking him in the car to JI's workplace to get the van.

Also they went upstairs!! ie where SH is "sleeping"

Ah so suitcases were in loft, blag bag in kitchen and big blue box (containing Becky's torsoe wrapped in shower curtain, bathroom rugs and bags etc.) dragged across the floor. Wonder if it was that blue box the neighbour heard being dragged previosuly?

Ah that will teach me to read all posts....it sounds very much as it NM was indeed passing out the packages !! which makes a puzzle of him later saying, dont look in the bags - KD had already seen the packages !!
