Any court today?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should start around 10:30. This from last night.

That’s the end of Donovan Demetrius’ evidence and the trial has been adjourned until tomorrow morning.
We’ll hear more evidence from the defence at Bristol Crown Court when the hearing resumes at 10.30am.

Not sure why it says today's evidence will be from Defence.

I do wonder what exactly we will hear today in Court. Will there be any written statements introduced at this stage - am thinking AG, KD and JP, before the Prosecution begins his closing argument.

ETA Ahh, just seen your post Clio. So the Defence are not yet finished - wonder who else they've got.

I hope so as there still seems to be bits missing, and unless the jury have heard statements that haven't been reported they must feel the same.

Morning

I realise that is limited info, from the snippets we are reading, but to me, that sounds as though KD was the one panicking or worrying about exactly what was in the shed...as both JI and JP seem to be trying to calm him down.

oh, I read it that JP and JI had received those messages from KD, not that they had sent them to KD. don't know cos I've never used snapchat.

I wonder if they are going straight to Pros closing summary and then break for the weekend

Or calling people back. Can't decide if it would be good or bad to have the closing summary right before a weekend.

I hope not...there feels like there has been so many missed chances in this trial...so many people who could have been called as witnesses who weren't. Lines of questioning that weren't explored...grrrr

Yes, I reposted, after Mrazda's comment, saying that we did not actually know whether they were sent or received messages.
It actually could make sense the other way round, with KD sending the messages, as, of the three of them, I think he might be the one to try and sort things out ( being as he had been the one who started it all, so to speak, by taking on the job ).

Ah, I did see something last night that said no Court until 2pm, but then every other outlet said 10.30am.

Ah well, gives me time to get some work done !

I suppose they all ( the Barristers ) want to have a good time slot for their closing, but I wonder why they could not have done say;
Prosecution this morning
NMs Barrister this afternoon
SHs Barrister Friday morning
and then the final two - JI and DDs Barristers doing the Monday morning slot ( think they could both be covered in a morning session )
Then Judge on Monday afternoon, followed by Jury going out just before close of play on Monday, with just enough time to choose foreperson etc, before beginning deliberations from Tuesday onwards.

thanks, yes, I was working my way through the posts as I had to pop out and hadn't seen mrazda's post yet.

from my own experience, the judge's summing up is like repeating everything we've heard in the trial, plus directions, a whole day. each judge is different though.

foreperson chosen in the deliberating room.

I think it would do us all good to have a nice healthy break from this thread for a few hours. Been a time consuming, thought provoking and emotional few weeks.

I for one am going to catch up on all the things I should have been doing for the last 3 days. See y'all at 2

Anyone know where SH is being held on remand please?

I saw some comments the other day on UK & Eire Database that it was in Glos. and a reference to the same place as Maxine Carr, but MC was in Holloway then Bucks afaIk.

Is it something that is kept secret? Just curious.

well, if we've heard everything we're going to hear, these are my predictions for the verdicts -

NM conspiracy to kidnap and murder and all the other charges - Guilty (unanimous)
SH ditto NM charges - Guilty (majority)
JI - assisting an offender - Guilty - sentence reduced because of mitigating mental health factors
DD - ditto JI charge - Not Guilty

I think the jury will decide SH's guilt in the following manner - was jointly involved in the plan to kidnap in a sexually motivated attack. the behaviour of encouraging NM seen and being subservient to him in threesomes and other ways too. kidnap because they wouldn't risk AG coming back early. stun gun/s involved. was it manslaughter? - no NM did not act alone in the killing because he wasn't physically healthy enough to - BW was putting up a prolonged struggle and was most likely screaming which neighbours and their daughter might hear - could have been either of them that suffocated BW. NM hasn't given a clear account of keeping his hand over BW's mouth and nose which left bruising. They weren't sure she was dead. NM stabbed her in the neck leaving blood on doorframe and duvet cover and her clothing, as well as his own beanie hat.

MOO
