[h=3]Defence: Texts about kidnapping schoolgirls were 'silly'[/h]Matthews’ defence lawyer is now laying out to the jury how texts between him and Hoare discussing kidnapping schoolgirls were ‘a bit silly’.
Adam Vaitilingam QC said the texts are not to be taken seriously.
He labelled them “flimsy evidence”.

Good grief, what next ! NM is into 🤬🤬🤬🤬, but that isn't relevant, even though NM admitted to watching 🤬🤬🤬🤬 every day.
NM has a vile rape video on his pc, but looks like he hasnt watched it lately, so that's ok ........
and talk of kidnapping young teenage girls for sex, is just silly !

I started off being angry with Mr Defence, but now I think he's just doing a great job of making NM sound even worse than I already thought he was.

Cant find anything more about this, hopefully it will come out when his Defence Barrister does his bit.

But as Skibaboo said, it only means it was not viewed on that computer since May 2014 ........ could have been uploaded elsewhere and watched many times.

Totally agree - it's a matter of whether the jury will be informed/know of the all that so they can discount this May 2014 .

perplexed about Pros saying stun gun was never used too.
How would forensics know, didn't think forensics had testified to their use, as opposed to ruled them out as such

And wasn't there was the indecent images of child charge too - separate to SH?

AV:We say the evidence points towards his account to the police.

Apart from him telling the police he strangled her .... only punched her once (despite 40 injuries) ....... claimed SH was out when he used the saw, and so on.

The jury shouldn't know about that - it's not part of this trial

They shouldn't, but it was common knowledge before this trial iirc.

perhaps that's the reason they were excluded from the trial. Not to influence the jury's thinking on this offence.

Re the stun gun. I remember an expert witness for the pros (expert on weaponry??) who said that it is possible to use a stun gun and leave no markings. Unproved either way I suppose, but he used it imo.

Quote -

he wont be the first to admit he finds young women sexually attractive

or to translate that properly - he likes underage teenage girls

Keep in mind that NM's defence is only concerned with the conspiracy to kidnap charge, and murder as opposed to manslaughter.
He admits killing her, it's just the circumstances that are in dispute.

Maybe but the jury have a duty to make a decision based only on the evidence presented in court. We don't know what prospective jurors were asked on the questionnaire. There was probably some question or other as to whether a juror had formed a prior opinion on the case in which case they'd be ruled out of serving

[h=3]Read the kidnapping texts in full[/h]The jury previously heard one message read: “Laugh out loud where’s the little sweet 16...ish (smiley face).”
Another said: “Blonde schoolgirls IB tapping!!...hm...lol 🤬🤬🤬”
A Facebook message on a mobile used by the couple said: “F*** me what version of Up did you watch.”
A message came back in reply saying: “The one with the schoolgirls doing 🤬🤬🤬🤬 (smiley face) or I might have let my mind get away with me just a little bit 🤬🤬🤬”
Three minutes later another message said: “So you watched some 🤬🤬🤬🤬 with a blonde 16-year-old having sex with a really really grumpy old man in a floating house with a talking dog 🤬🤬🤬”
In December 5 a text message sent from a mobile phone said: “How did you message *** ( a 16-year-old girl) as I can’t.”
Six minutes later a text reply said : “Why can’t you, I just went on her Facebook”
Three minutes another text said: “I don’t know I’ll show you when I finish work.”
A Facebook message from a mobile phone to a 16-year-old girl on November 11 last year said: “Hi don’t you work at Law’s Kitchen. My friend is a driver there. I think you worked one Friday with him. xox”
On December 9 another text message said: “F*** you bring me bak 2 pretty schoolgirls then (smiley face).”
The text reply said: “Lol yeh I’ll just kidnap them from school.”
