In legal discussion, The Hon. Mr Justice Dingemans says Nathan Matthews' explanation of kidnapping Becky to teach her respect was "absurd".

I like this judge! Of course it was absurd.

I hope he doesn't get a whole life sentence.

I hope that the thought of one day, getting released is what keeps him going and what makes him keen to keep some relationship with his mother and then he may be more likely to tell his mother the truth.

This wasn't considered in the case of Karen Buckley. Her body was similarly destroyed after her murder but he only got 30 years. I never understood how Packau (sorry if spelt wrong, but he isn't worth 30 seconds of my time to google his name) didn't get a full life term, as he will still be a danger when released.
I guess that for him the minimum before he can be considered for parole is 30 years and then given his previous I doubt the parole would deem him safe enough to release

I wonder if Pacteau's sentence was because it wasn't pre-planned? I think it was an opportunist murder (not that it's any comfort to KB's poor family). Also KB was over 18.

If the only thing which makes him eventually tell the truth, is what is in it for him, then I hope he stays locked up for the rest of his life.

Whatever he has to say is probably so horrific, it probably won't bring them any peace anyway.
