I noticed that too.. the group could have deleted him

I think somebody has been on both of their profiles and edited stuff as their friends lists are now unavailable to view, they were definitely there for all to see a few days ago.

With regards to no social media links between NM/SH and the other 5, remember (if what was reported was true) that a member of the other five called the police a few days after NM/SH's arrest, plenty of time to delete a couple of friends off FB/Twitter to make it look as though they didn't know each other.

Nope I agree, I always feel that any forum like this can get a bit ridiculous sometimes, when there's no info being made available some people's imaginations go a bit gaga :)

I can almost guarantee that when it all come out it will be more horrifying and gruesome than we imagine but all done for a simpler reason than grooming gangs, drug deals and secret cult sacrifices ...
It got a bit silly yesterday, lots of people frustrated by lack of information making huge leaps based on assumptions that were at times so odd they became funny and almost surreal.

We really don't know very much at all. It's possible that there are very dark motives behind this. It's also possible that an isolated one off incident started this and the rest spiralled out of control. It's odd that so many people appear to be involved but it could turn out that they all had a great deal to lose if they Police dug too far into their lives because of other activities.

The fact is that no one is going to get answers until the legal process is underway.

Really interested in what will happen with the other 5 today. I'm assuming they the Police think they are involved so if that's the case I hope they have enough to hold them on something, anything to avoid them going walkies on release.

has any motive for this awful killing has been given by the police?
though nothing can justify this or any murder,
what kind of threat can a sixteen year old girl be?
how did he get others to be part of it by helping him dispose of rebecca's body, did anyone thought "this is wrong"? they all are adults, helping becky and her family was just a phone call away

It may or not be the case that these were the sort of people who it was already known you could go to in such a situation and they'd be willing to help, or at least be discrete about it.

MOO

I think the Police may be able to get one more extension if they need it. They've had two 24 hour extensions, that leaves the possibility of another 12 hours.

This is probably like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle in the dark. I doubt there is much cooperation or feedback from the suspects. Given the timescales they've potentially had a week or more to get their stories straight.

That's the bit that confuses me, the fb pics show a decent house, nicely decorated etc yet the press/Police keep referring to it as rundown
Is it possible that it's the shed or outhouse that is run down?

I don't feel this was an accidental death at all! You really would have to hate someone, or have no love feelings towards them to dismember the body. If it was an accident, even hiding that death for whatever reason wouldn't involve dismemberment. I realize in my beliefs that the soul passes with the moment of death, however, to defile the body just really bothers me. The body would be treated with respect, and obviously most murderers don't care about taking someone's life, so they don't usually care about the body afterwards. Lack of respect all around. Yet, even with all the murder cases we hear about on here, dismemberment is rather rare. I mean it's happened in lots of cases, but compared to the number of murders, we usually hear of the body disposed of on a side of a road, in some woods, a shallow grave, dumpsters, body of water etc, more than dismembering. It's just so vile.

I wonder if sweet Becky suffered with some social issues, or mental health issues that made her even more vulnerable? Someone 16 and still not comfortable handing money to a cashier, or asking for a ticket for the bus just seems unusual to me. Seems some anxiety issues or something going on, and that makes this all the worse to me. Someone scared to walk home at night, and yet the monster wasn't even a stranger. :tantrum:

Missing teen Becky Watts received a text message from her best pal just NINE minutes before she mysteriously disappeared.
Courtney Bicker sent a regular greeting to the 16-year-old - who read the message but did not reply - last Thursday morning.
Becky was last seen just minutes later and left home with no spare clothes, make up, purse or phone charger.
Her phone has been switched off ever since and police say her disappearance is totally out of character.
Courtney said the last person Becky texted was her boyfriend Luke Oberhansli, 17, to make plans for later that day but he didn't reply because he was at the dentist.
College student Courtney, 17, said: "I've got no idea whatsoever what has happened.
"It's really like she has disappeared with no trace.
"I sent her a message at 11.06am and it went through to her phone, but I sent her a message the following morning and it didn't go through.
"I didn't really think much of it. I thought that maybe her phone was off and maybe she was asleep."

She added: "I'm just really confused and scared. I'm just literally waiting by the phone for someone to call and say she is back home.
"I like to hope she has just run away and will come back when she is ready, but this is so unlike her.
"She wouldn't go to the shops on her home. She makes someone go to the shop till for her and buy her bus ticket.
"If she was going outside she would meet somebody near by. She wouldn't walk long distances on her own.
"She wouldn't walk out at night on her own.
"When she used to come round mine, she would make me walk her back home. She doesn't like walking back in the dark."

Nathan Matthews, Becky's step-brother, was the first to appear before the district judge.
He appeared in the dock dressed in a plain, dark blue T-shirt and appeared unshaven. He stared straight ahead and answered in clear, precise tones as he was asked for his name, date of birth and gave his home address as Hazelbury Drive, Warmley.
Then the most important part of the whole case took place, when the charge of murdering Becky sometime between Thursday, February 19 and Sunday, March 1, was read out by the clerk of the courts.
Judge Matthews made it clear that bail was not going to be an issue and remanded Matthews back into custody until tomorrow, when he will be make his first Crown court appearance via video link.
The proceedings lasted barely a minute and the court barely had time to draw its breath before Matthews' girlfriend and co-accused Shauna Hoare took her place in the dock.
The 21-year-old mother-of-one has shoulder-length brown hair, which appeared unwashed, and she was dressed in the same regulation dark blue T-shirt and track suit bottoms.
Hoare gave her name and date of birth but when asked for her address, she simply stated Bristol.
Mark Linahan the solicitor acting on behalf of Hoare, who also goes by the name of Phillips, told the judge there would be no application for bail.
Hoare, who lives at Cotton Mill Lane in Barton Hill, was formally accused of perverting the course of public justice in that she hindered the police investigation and assisted Nathan Matthews, intending him to evade detection for the murder of Rebecca Watts.
She was then remanded into custody and her next appearance before the courts will take place on Thursday, April 2 at Bristol Crown Court.

I guess there is no online court records access for this???

On the contrary dismemberment is not rare at all, in fact it is a fairly common means of disposal.

I'm sure police would have accessed their profiles by now and what your suggesting can easily be verified by them as all changes made to profiles are backed up on change logs on the server. Either police have gone in and made everything private to stop people having a nosy ( which they've done on other cases) or someone else who has passwords to the accounts is doing so. If that is the case then I'm sure police would like to speak to those individuals

Probably, guessing that takes a bit of time though and possibly requires a warrant? Any idea on that? :-)
