Thinking about this again .... it does seem plausible that they thought it was drugs and perhaps other illegal goods, because of the amount of money offered. Hard to see how someone like NM would have a disposable £5,000 otherwise.
Yes, I can believe they didn't know. At the moment, I'm not prepared to say I totally believe them, however, I can't imagine the vast majority of the public would knowingly store the dismembered body of a girl for a mate, for a number of reasons.
Firstly, if you weren't involved with the murder, you'd be facing a lot of jail time for helping out afterwards - so a big risk for something that you are innocent of initially.
Secondly, with a missing person, family are always the first to be suspected - and a close friend is going to be the next logical stop when the police start looking.
Thirdly, even most criminals would be opposed to killing 16 year old girls. Even if someone was experienced in drug dealing, theft, car crime and so on, its a huge jump to store a dead body a for someone, and an even bigger jump to store one that is in pieces - especially a 16 year old.
Unless they are so greedy and devoid of humanity, that £5,000 is worth sinking to that low a level. But if they've been involved with either dealing or storing drugs before, then it would seem a believable explanation - especially if NH & SH used the excuse that as Becky was missing and the police were likely to search their house, they need a hiding place for the drugs. Must be stupid not to put 2 and 2 together though - a girl is missing and someone wants to store items that are roughly the size and weigh of the missing person.
However, after saying all that ..... the things that are coming out of this case, I can believe that people involved in their circle are that depraved.
Must say it's quite weird to put your make up on before doing something so horrible.
Mmm........ I think they went to SHs mother's house initially on that Monday night because they did not want to be in their house and allow the police access, whilst they still had Becky's body there.
Then, after the removal on the Monday night, I think they then went to the mother's house each day because they needed somewhere to go. I imagine they usually went to Becky's house most days ( preferable to sitting in their own cramped house ) but of course they didnt want to go there that week, with all the searching for Becky etc, wouldnt want to be involved in any talk about her.

Also, considering that police initially did not know what was in the packages due to how they had been wrapped and had to physically undo them then I think it could be quite possible that they didn't know.
I think that the case against DD must be very slim. Oviously we don't know the evidence yet but as far as I can see atm he wasn't driving/moving the packages, it wasn't his house - indeed atm it seems he was only implicated because he turned up at the house and had been staying there on and off.
May change though

Blood stained duvet and pillow case also found as well as green jumper cut all down back - did they put her on their bed?????? Or was this from Beckys room although I would have thought it would have been recognised if these items were missing

Jury shown jumper. Items also found inside jumper, a used bloodied tampon and some small pieces of broken plastic
Re the tampon - I really really hope Becky wasn't violated even further

IIRC Anjie & Darren had been taken to a hotel/safe house by then as the Police wanted to do a thorough search at Crownhill. I guess SH & NM had nowhere else to go, notice no friends came to their aid so assuming they didn't actually have many. Feel so sad for the child, the only good thing to come out of this is her being with a normal family. MOO
