I'd ask why and then I'd answer in the hope that my info might help find out what had happened to the missing relative.

I'm speaking more generally than this case so not neccessarily something life or death.

I'm trying to put myself into the minds of an innocent person (again, not saying this pair are at all!), who is arrested for a crime they have not committed and is told to answer no comment.

edited to add: I totally can't understand in a missing person case though as my priority would be to get that person home.

Angers me also him saying to the police to not say SH name. Telling the police how to do their job, they should have said eh no we'll say what we have to, not bowing down to his demands.

The reason i think he didn't want SH's name mentioned is because she was fully involved and he didn't want to run the risk of slipping up. He was getting it all straight in his head, some liars can't look people in the face, NM is a perfect example.

  • #603
But if SH and NM had talked about kidnapping teenage girls, or knocking out a girl to bring home - then why is SH now sooo surprised by NMs kidnap idea ?

RBBM

BC they apparently ea have alternate, reasonable explanations for everything...and I do mean Everything.

Just sexual fantasies ^^, not meant to become reality

Watching his interview, where he can't even look up to look the person he's speaking to in the eye, and seems to be making the kidnap plan up as he goes along... I can't shake the feeling that maybe he's covering for SH and that she could even be the one who killed Becky. The car parking with the boot by the house suggests it was a pre planned kidnap, but all this about what he was going to do afterwards and fidning a random wooded area, sounds made up. I wonder if the plan was like their texts... to take the kidnap victim to their attic. I'm confused!

Colourpurple I can't shake this feeling either!

Just catching up. Thanks so much to those who have been posting all the updates today!

A couple of thoughts.

Firstly, does anyone actually believe Nathan's kidnap story? I for one think it is total BS. He KNOCKED AND SPOKE TO BECKY before she opened the door to him. Would you really do that if you wanted to keep your identity hidden?! It just sounds so made up to me, and full of holes. Personally I think the plan was to kill her or abuse her sexually all along. There is also evidence on the doorframes of the other bedrooms which suggest the struggle continued there - that Becky tried to get away or that something happened on the duvet cover in the spare bedroom. As has previously been mentioned, I'm also not buying the bag story. Anyone who has fully thought through a kidnap will ensure that their intended victim is not conscious and able to make a racket in the boot, alerting your apparently unaware girlfriend.

I'm also not sure what use the lock on the outside of the bathroom door would have been, considering it looks like a twist lock that SH could easily have opened.

However ... I'm not sure what to make of SH at the moment. If we were to believe her story that NM was controlling and violent I can see it being plausible?!

A clever person on UK & Eire......fb page has asked, is there an electric plug in the bathroom? If not, there'd be a lead out and door not closed. Hmmmmm

Oh good point. There wouldn't normally be a proper plug socket in the bathroom , though he might have been able to thread the extension lead under the door and still close the door. Wonder where the nearest socket is. Landing?

That's been mentioned before I think. Depends on how close fitting the door is to the floor. I can close some of my internal doors with a wire running underneath

In that interview she told police that, on February 20, she and Matthews went to Crown Hill intending to wash up, vacuum and take the dog for a walk.

Where was the dog on February 19 ??

Probably still in the cage!!!

Hoare said. "I was in front of Nathan and I had my back to him and I went straight to the kitchen. I heard him shut the living room door to let the dog out of the cage.

I keep veering one way then another with SH - then I remember she was supposedly out in the rain for 20-30 minutes having a cigarette (with her child) ??

She heard nothing of the 'obvious' shouting of RW when she was attacked, nor of the struggle - in such a small house ??

The only smell she noticed was bleach from the bathroom ??

Her partner's sister is missing yet they both spend a few days at her mum's place (after no contact for a few years) to keep out of the way when the obvious place for them is to give RW's parents support ??

They weren't 'aware' of any searches happening for RW ??

He manages to dismember RW all by himself without marking anything in the bathroom, nor leaving any traces (extraordinary according to the forensic expert) ??

There is more, but when it comes down to it her evidence is hard to believe for me.

I am still waiting to hear this police evidence that 4 months later enabled them to charge her with joint murder though, not enough but my own opinions so far.

Perhaps but if you are advised by a solicitor to give a no comment interview, what do you do? I'm not saying that this was the case here mind but all you can do is follow the advice of the experts.

'Personally' If I was innocent or even knew a little but had not had any part in it I would want to tell the Police every little thing I knew In order to help them and prove my innocence....Having said that I am possibly naiive and should take legal advice, but I'd still be wanting to help. I haven't seen any kind of embarrassment/remorse or anything that shows SH is indeed completely innocent on ALL charges. At this point I don't think she took part in the Murder but can't believe she didn't know anything or help in the aftermath. Too many coincidences say she knows more!
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION
Would love to know if the issue with their toilet was mentioned to DG & AG??

Looks too tight from this pic to fit a lead under door, imo.

No Court tomorrow. Which leaves the Jury and us a long weekend on which to twist our over confuddled brains even more. I'm sooo lost. As mentioned in a prior posting. Nothing is in order. Not Chronological it's all higglty pigglty. Poor Jurors I really really do not envy them at all.

Great job to all keeping us up to date ☺

The whiney squirrely persona NM puts forth in the interview video is quite the stark contrast to the violent person SH says scares her.

Quite the drama queen, isn't he?

  • #618
Can anyone who is considering SH could be completely uninvolved, think of a reason , if innocent, why SH would not tell her mother and step father that Becky was missing when she visited them?

I can't imagine not mentioning it , in fact I'm sure it'd be one of the first things I'd be telling them

Not only did SH in theory not mention it but LD "found out" that NM/SH knew Becky and "joked" that they had kidnapped her! What a weird comment to make.

I bet theres a wall socket on the top of the stairs out of view to the left of that plug . The fit does look tight over the carpeted landing part but I think the bathroom is lino so there might be a gap where the lino meets the .. erm .. metal plate thing they put on the floor at the points were the carpet ends and the lino starts... can't think of the name lol
