Found Deceased UK - Samantha Eastwood, 28, Stoke-on-Trent, 27 July 2018 *Arrest*

Rumours around here are that she was moved in the roof box and that his car was seen on CCTV by police earlier in the week. A local farmer shared footage early on and they were investigating the area before it was know on the news. I reiterate this is only local rumours and personally I agree the roof box seems too awkward to use perhaps. However, apparently the car was seen around the area. I’m not sure if this is instead of or in addition to the van.
A roof box doesn't only have to be attached to a car roof either; it would fit in the back of a van and some are lockable so useful for transporting securely.

Apparently the car was recorded on CCTV by a farmer by Tickhill Lane (Caverswall)
The story in the media was that his CCTV's memory was insufficient to hold details far back enough but perhaps police were protecting him?

I daresay there is a lot of chinese whispers as is natural. Person A mentions a van, person B repeats the story but says car instead of van, and so on.

Police searching for Samantha Eastwood have been in this street for days

i would imagine his car was searched when they went to his house on the Sunday after SE disappeared. I belive this could just be Chinese whispers as the press mentioned a roof box. Unless the neighbour saw him move the roof box Thursday night and assume it was to go on holiday and he put the roof box in his van.

Would be interesting to know when he acquired the roof box. Was it a recent purchase or borrowed from a family member perhaps?

Also,

can't remember which specific cases followed on WS but can remember there's been plenty of expert evidence where it takes a great deal of top level expertise to distinguish beyond reasonable doubt, between suffocation & unintentional asphixyation. ( can't spell it now!)
Considering MS's evasions over the week 27th-4thAug,and with the presence of masking tape ( albeit not specified on mouth area in the press reports) speculating he'll come up with something as a defence of manslaughter when he needs to...

Was it the police officer who killed his police officer wife, the ones with the huge debts?

I can't find the quote any more, it may have been cut from the newspaper articles, but I do remember the original comment from the neighbour was that she saw MS and wife putting the roof box onto their car on Thursday - which, she said, signalled they were getting ready to go on their annual holiday.
From that comment I assumed that this was not the first time she had seen them with a roof box.

I might have been looking it up on the Helen Bailey case because there had been the possibility he'd suffocated her after drugging her...

Why the tape on her face? In my view, it puts him in the weirdo psycho basket no matter what his reason.

I can't find the roof box mentioned anywhere now either. I wonder If this means the roof box was used to transport SE.

I don't watch soaps but there has been a story in Emmerdale the last month or so regarding a kidnap. Someone previously mentioned a programme involving kidnap and could this have given MS ideas. Could be a coincidence however, but the masking tape has got me seriously questioning about a kidnap motive.

roof box here :
"According to at least two neighbours, Katie, John’s 32-year-old younger sister, and her husband Michael, who is the same age, were seen putting a roof box on their car on Thursday evening last week — the day before Samantha disappeared. The neighbours took this to mean that the family — the couple have a young daughter — were about to go on their annual holiday."

So that was shown just before the 26th July. It's possible he was inspired.
Again this Stirling holiday doesn't fit does it. You can't really kidnap someone on the same day you're planning a trip with your own family.

The neighbours' assumptions on holidays is probably just an assumption then? ( Although TBH elderly neighbours are often quite good at witnessing.... however it must be said, we never heard any mention of bags, suitcases being loaded in any of the press accounts - just the roofbox being fitted)

I meant, effectively kidnap and plan to hold them hostage for any length of time...

Why do you think he took the Radley purse, because he had to have taken it and why were her bank cards not in it. It's clearly the type of thing you would keep bank and credit cards,id's, money in.

BBM: It could just have been in SE's pocket??
