I thought that myself this morning, gave me a jolt too

Seems odd, gone from missing to deceased! I've googled and can't find any thing to say otherwise,no news updates reporting anything different!

Am sure the Mods were alerted. Perhaps they are just busy or haven't picked up the message.

Any chance this, could be why the jury have had a 5 day break!

I would highly doubt it. Not without there being a police announcement or it being on the news and mods in America definitely wouldn't know before anyone else here.

Guilty, that was pretty quick so it must have been compelling against him. Wasn’t sure I was expecting that to happen.

We’ll find out a lot more now in the press.

Thank goodness! Genuinely wasn't expecting that to happen.

And yes, the thread has been marked "Found Deceased" for a week or more. It was reported to mods back then so don't know why it hasn't been dealt with.

Marilyn Lacomba - blew her son a kiss as he leaves the dock! That woman definitely knows something that hasn’t been brought out.

Discussion on sentencing to take place this afternoon
Lacomba sits in the dock in a navy suit, shirt and tie looking emotionless as the verdict is handed down.

Court adjourns until this afternoon for discussion about a sentencing date, with Judge Kinch stating: “I don’t intend to proceed to sentence immediately.

“The sentence for the offence of which you have been convicted is fixed by law,” Judge Kinch tells Lacomba.

“This is life imprisonment.”

The jury has now left the courtroom.

Sarah Wellgreen’s boyfriend Neil James says:

“It’s been a year coming, we knew he was guilty, and we’re just happy with the decision.

“We’ve known this for a long long time and a lot of people have been affected.

“My daughter still asks where Mummy Sarah is and thinks I’m at the police station looking for her today.

“The search team have been amazing. They are all volunteers and have gone out of their way and it’s just a relief.

“I think all the evidence was stacked against him and I was determined to come back in today.

“Let’s hope he now says where Sarah’s body is.

“These guys are still searching and will be out this weekend.

“Lets hope he admits where the body is now.

“It’s a great relief and I hope now that a lot of people can move on.”

Claire Prodger, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said it was a “highly unusual case” for the CPS as it is very rare to authorise a murder charge within a few weeks of someone’s disappearance without their body being found. She says:

We were able to do this, as the police presented us with compelling evidence by the police that Sarah had not left her home voluntarily.

“We concluded therefore that she had therefore been unlawfully killed.

“There was simply no coherent or plausible basis to suggest that anyone other than Ben Lacomba could have been responsible for her death.

“He removed her body from their address that night and then disposed of it.

“To do so would have required specific local knowledge and crucially how to avoid detection by the neighbour’s CCTV cameras.

“There was only one person who knew how to get in and out of their home undetected and that was Lacomba himself.

“Our thoughts are with Sarah’s family at this difficult time.”
