THIS is the man police want to trace in connection with the alleged rape of a schoolgirl today in south west London.

CCTV shows the teenager - who was on her way to school - being followed down the street by a hooded man who pounces and abducts her.

The victim told police she was attacked in North Place, Mitcham at around 7am.

Mobile footage reportedly of the suspect walking away were posted online.

In one, the alleged victim is rescued by one of two woman passers-by who intervenes asking if she knows the man. She is heard crying to the female: “Thank you, thank you.”

Police were called shortly afterwards and a crime scene remains in place.

The Met said at this early stage, there have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing.

Local officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area.

Vauxhall Labour MP Florence Eshalomi tweeted: “Please protect girls and young women. Do not walk by if you notice something suspicious - thank God for the quick actions of the two women who intervened.”

Detective Inspector Laura Semple, of the South West Command Unit, said: “The victim and her family are receiving support from specially trained officers.

“We have released an image of a man we would like to speak to and urge anyone who can help us trace him to contact police immediately.”

People were asked to be mindful of sharing information via social media that could identify the alleged victim or affect any potential future proceedings.

Any witnesses or those who have information that could assist police is asked to call 101 ref CAD 1063/3 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Thank god for the women that intervened...I bet they were so scared. Still are some people out there with some respect for human life I see.

Oh man...that second video...the poor, poor girl...what an absolute waste of organs...family ffs...uggghhhh

It’s quite upsetting when she is finally left alone just in case anyone is a bit sensitive like me and starts bawling...I just think of my baby girl in a situation like that...terrifying.

ETA For those of you with daughters, at what age would you feel comfortable showing them that video? No judging, genuinely curious. My Miss 7 is giving me sass as her best friend lives around the corner on the next block over and I won’t let her walk alone and she doesn’t get why...

And he wouldn't let her go. Disgusting. If LE doesn't find him, someone else is going to.

Kadian Nelson is registered as holding three active directorships on Companies House, Arts & Culture Muesum Ltd, Homeless Resolution Ltd and MH Hub Ltd, with one dissolved company Nelson&Co. Ltd. None have filed accounts and two received First Gazette notices for compulsory strike-off last week.

Kadian NELSON - Personal Appointments (free information from Companies House)

I don't understand what any of this means. Does he have three companies/businesses? What does the 'strike-off' refer to?

He has three limited companies registered, however it doesn't look like they are operating. The 'strike-off' is a notice issued if a company does not submit it's yearly documents on time, which gives the company director/s notice that their company will be struck off the record if they don't comply and submit their documents within two months of the notice being issued (unless they can provide a valid reason not to).

He's lucky LE got him first.
Dare i say that i hope he resisted arrest, what that creep allegedly did to a girl at 7 in the morning on her way to school is beyond repulsive.
He looks so big compared to the slight figure of the girl attacked, what a coward. imo.

Please forgive me. Not sure how old your DD is, but guessing seven?

My father was on the police force for 36 years. Beat cop to Highway Patrol to Detective. There were horrific things he saw, and often my mom was like "Do you have to tell her?" My dad's response:

Better shocked or frightened instead of DEAD!!!

Maybe wrong? But it works. You're an awesome parent!

I mean, I think it's never too early to explain children the dangers that are out there. If you are a girl your chances of being victimized by just existing and being out there in the world go up even more. So yeah, if a kiddo is asking to have more freedom like that, it would probably be good to have a more serious talk with the child. Maybe ask if she wants to watch it? I don't have kids yet but I worry a lot about the kids in my family.
