I mean, I think it's never too early to explain children the dangers that are out there. If you are a girl your chances of being victimized by just existing and being out there in the world go up even more. So yeah, if a kiddo is asking to have more freedom like that, it would probably be good to have a more serious talk with the child. Maybe ask if she wants to watch it? I don't have kids yet but I worry a lot about the kids in my family.
I so get it. In my time there was none of this video etc. At one time my dad still a young cop found a little girl that was abducted on her way to middle school. Many LE were employed, but a child found the girls sweater and wanted to keep it. My dad interviewed that child, and how I don't know found her locked in her Uncles basement.
Despite them sending female officers to assist the little girl clung to my dad through hours of tests and processing.
Moral and it went through my brother's and my own life. Afraid of a movie? Afraid of some silly thing you heard in school? There's real life! Pay attention! This or that just happened!
Today someone may say my dad was wrong, but we allowed the same with all the grandkids.
Better afraid than dead! Thank the universe this young lady and parents are already getting good help. Poor kid. Life changed forever by just going to school.
