UK - Sherry Bruce, 58, Grandmother murdered, Aberdeen, 3 April 2022 ‘arrest’

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged over the death of a grandmother in Aberdeen.

Sherry Bruce, 58, was found seriously injured at a property in Glenbervie Road, at around 17:30 on Sunday. Emergency services attended but she died at the scene.

A 26-year-old man was injured and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he is in a stable condition.

Police Scotland launched a murder inquiry following the incident.

Ms Bruce's family said in a statement: "She was a kind and caring mum with a soft heart who adored everyone she met.

"She was very family oriented and devoted to her job. She was loyal and a wonderful grandmother and will be sorely missed."

Police Scotland's Det Insp Gary Winter said: "Our thoughts remain with Sherry's family at what continues to be a difficult time for them.

"I would also like to thank the local community for their patience, help and assistance during our investigation and to those who came forward with information."

"Anyone who heard or saw anything in the area is asked to contact Police Scotland."

The 24-year-old man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Thai Hoang, known as Beaton, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he made no plea to charges of murder and attempted murder.
The 24-year-old was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He is due to appear again over the matter in the next eight days.
