GUILTY UK - Sian O'Callaghan, 22, Swindon, Wiltshire, 19 March 2011

Police say they believe one of the bodies — found near Wantage, Oxon — is the 22-year-old.

A 47-year-old taxi driver — named locally as Christopher Halliwell — has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and two murders.

Police have sealed off all roads leading to beauty spot White Horse of Uffington hill, which features a sculpture of a white horse carved in the chalk.

Sian disappeared early on Saturday morning after visiting a nightclub in Swindon, Wilts, with friends.

I must admit, I'd allowed myself to hope a bit, today - that perhaps she was being held and help was on the way.

Me too wfgodnot. I've just come back and read all these posts about two bodies, one being Sian's. I really thought that she would be found alive somewhere. I feel so very sad for her family and friends.

Latest Wilshire Police update, from their website:

Wiltshire Police would like to make it clear that while the location of two bodies has been identified to the Senior Investigating Officer, only one body has currently been found and this is believed to be Sian O’Callaghan.

The second body has yet to be found.

That poor girl... I hoped against hope they'd find her alive, I kept thinking about her and hoping she'd be found alive and returned to her boyfriend and family, especially after what they said in the morning, but no. Poor Sian, it doesn't bear thinking about. My heart breaks for her, for her boyfriend, her family and friends.

A 19-year-old man from Bath, James Bubear, had been missing since, I think, 13 March. Bath is about 30 miles from Swindon.

It says he disappeared after leaving a club!! However, it also says he went missing from his flat? I wonder if it was confirmed that he'd made it home.

If the taxi firm was relatively new I wonder if CH was new to the area.....I think a few missing persons cases here in the UK are soon to be solved

Good question. I guess they got they guy in custody and he figured he was caught bang to rights, and he perhaps sought to purge his conscience and thus gave up both bodies. I'm guessing that he would have had to supply some proof of the one still unfound or police would not have included it in the statement at the press conference.

Its reported in The Sun that he moved in with a woman and her three children 5 years ago. She has been living there for 15 years.

Exactly, I will think twice now before getting into any taxi alone. When you think about it, you are vulnerable once you step into one. You could find yourself alone with a killer driver like CH.

Off topic- I work in a London borough (wont mention which one) with young people aged 10-17 with substance misuse issues. The thing that worries me the most is the local governments denial on the level of substance misuse, crime, teenage pregnancy and gangs. The evidence is staring them in the face yet they actually don't believe that there is a problem. The service that I work for was audited because they thought our service was lying about the statistics!!

The future of this country and what my children will face scares the hell outta me!

They will probably introduce something to make it even harder for taxi drivers to operate, probably by introducing some extra licence screwing the taxi drivers out of more money no doubt.

Of course that won't stop something like this happening again.
