UK - Stalker sent teenage girl a text - from under her bed

  • #21
Beds should come with a light underneath it, so you can show the kids ( and everyone else !) that monsters are not there.

Until the time you look and there IS a monster under there!

I vote...put the box spring and mattress right on the floor!!

As an adult I've always been afraid of the under the bed. I watched some movie years ago as a child and this girl would reach over her bed and pet her dog, and he would lick her, well it turned out to be some man the last time. I really can't remember much of the movie but it has stayed with me for years. Under the beds here are short and you would have to be very tiny to fit.
I am going to go read the articles now, see how her knows her.

This incident reminds me of one that gave me nightmares for many years. It happened around 50 years ago, on the east side of Cleveland. A man hid under the bed of a young lady (near this girls age, maybe a little older). He licked her hand, and it dangled over the bed (pretending to be her dog). Eventually, he stabbed her to death. That's what I recall my sister telling me, anyway. Her former husband used to work for this girl's dad. I was about 6 at the time that she told me the story. For the next 8 years, I checked under my bed every night before going to bed, and slept with a row of stuffed animals against me, so in case a man like that was under my bed, he would stab the animals, instead of me! Ugh! What a horrible memory!

Off to see if I can find the news story of the murder...

This is the stuff nightmares are made of!

How terrifying for the young girl.
What a good job she slept in her mums room that night, who knows what he would have done. What a weirdo x

That's really scary. Luckily, anyone would have to get past 9 large dogs to get under my bed. I don't think they would make it alive.

Good grief, this sort of thing has happened before...

From 2007..

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/man-hid-under-girls-bed-1047817

"A FUGITIVE lived under the bed of a 12-year-old girl for three months without her parents knowing.

Now he is beginning a two year and three months prison sentence after pleading guilty to rape and sexual abuse.

Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court heard Scott Jennings, 21, met the girl on a bus in Tameside in November last year telling her he was on the run from the police and needed somewhere to hide out.

After talking to her on the phone he persuaded her to let him sneak into her home, then he cut a hole in the base of her bed so that he could hide there when her mum came into the room".

And, incredibly, it also happened this year when a teacher hid under a student's bed!

http://metro.co.uk/2014/06/20/andrew-welsh-sex-teacher-found-hiding-under-teen-pupils-bed-4769701/

"A teacher caught hiding under a teenage pupil’s bed by her shocked mother has avoided jail after admitting a string of sex offences.

Married Andrew Welsh’s sexual relationship with the 16-year-old was exposed when her mother returned home unexpectedly one morning last July.

The 36-year-old had bombarded the pupil with obscene texts, including: ‘Have you heard about my maths lesson? We’re going to find out if 35 goes into 16.’

But he was caught out when her mother noticed a pair of man’s boots at the side of the bed in her room.

The court heard she also spotted her ‘impressionable’ daughter had ruffled hair and smudged lipstick.

While confronting her daughter, she looked down and saw movement in the drawer compartment within the girl’s single bed."

Well, here's the story I was talking about:
http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-...sz-1964-garfield-hts-murder-remains-a-mystery

My sister must have embellished it with the "hiding under the bed" details, since I didn't see that in the story. I can't take credit for finding it...I was talking to my brother last night, and I said, "you remember that girl who got murdered?....", and he hunted around until he found the story.

Turns out it was my mom who worked for her dad, not my former BIL.

Also, don't know if we are allowed to link to a topix thread, but there's some really fascinating posts there, including one person talking about a possible suspect, whose parents shipped him off to Europe shortly after this murder happened.

oh em gee!

Totally freaky. Creepy and every other description used by my fellow WSers.

That just made me sick to my stomach. I cannot imagine how frightening that must have been. your own home, your own room is supposed to be the one place you can go, close and lock the door and feel safe.

Shudder

That one dude got less than 3 years off of a rape charge after jumping bail and living in a young girls bed? I'll keep my gun laws where they are, please and thank you.

Hopefully dude does hang himself, but more than likely it will be nearby, if we even are that lucky.

LOL...here it would be six dogs, and if it was raining he would be competing with the coonhound for under bed space.

But seriously that is very creepy, I don't even like to let my limbs hang over the side of the bed "just in case".

Sounds like she knew this boy well though, she asked him "What are you doing" and he said "I was sleeping"???

That is NOT the sort of exchange one would expect if a person found some strange unknown man under their bed, but it WOULD be the sort of thing two teenagers that knew each other would say.

This man, a transient, was found under a 7 year old's bed just a few months ago!

http://www.klkntv.com/story/25632825/lincoln-police-arrest-transient-for-stalking

"Lincoln police arrested 25-year-old Dangelo Madkins for stalking and trespassing. Court documents say the victim, a 28-year-old woman, called police because she arrived home Sunday morning to find someone under her 7-year-old daughter's bed.

The documents say she heard someone snoring from under the bed, and left the apartment near 16th & Washington right away".

More from under the bed..

http://cnews.canoe.com/CNEWS/Crime/2015/07/23/22522681.html

"Jul 23, 2015

SPOTSWOOD, N.J. -- A man who police say sneaked into a U.S. home and hid under a bed for three days before he was found was the ex-boyfriend of the homeowners' daughter.

Police say Jason Hubbard was charged with burglary in the incident, which occurred in May. He's also charged with theft of services because he allegedly charged his four cellphones in an electrical outlet under the bed."
