Keep smiling SB... Given what the trial is for, really shows her true colours coming out.

Zafar Ali QC is absolutely brilliant!!! If she goes back to her cell at the end of each day and genuinely believes she's getting away with this then she really is deluded! He is spot on with everything he's saying. I like hearing the Jury and Judge comments (never seen this happen before).. Gives a small insight into what they think with their questions.

He’s not tolerating her cockiness either, consistently pulling her up on interrupting, smiling and being pedantic. I honestly think she is deluded! We’ve also got the prosecution coming up to question her after Ali and I look forward to that also….

This case and Arthur’s case are the only two that I recall their being questions posed by the judge and jury. I presume it happens all the time, just that this time, the reporters on both cases are being thorough with their coverage.

Does anyone know what this talk about a juror being discussed is about? And why the trial has been adjourned until tomorrow?

TIA!

No, where did you here that?

2:26pm

Mrs Justice Lambert is addressing the jury.

She thanks them for making themselves available for the two extra weeks she mentioned yesterday may be required.

Mrs Justice Lambert says some discussions have been ongoing regarding one juror - that juror is currently not present.

She says that because of these discussions there can be no further progress in the case today, so there will be no sitting this afternoon.

Yes, he's very impressive! Sharply asked her if she found this 'amusing'!

The 'discussions regarding one juror' I hope don't mean this is held up.

I am finding this case so sad and so shocking, that poor defenceless little mite, I'm not sure why it's not attracting as many posts as the other sad and awful child abuse/murder case at the moment (little Arthur.)

He’s got her marked and all figured out. He’s being extremely thorough with her and holding her accountable and that’s therefore provoking her into displaying her narcissistic ways. No one likes a defendant on the stand smiling, more so in the death of a child.

What’s worrying me about this discussion of the one juror is that maybe this one juror has been linked to someone involved in the case? That’s what my brain automatically rushed to, I hope it’s not the case….

I think this case is attracting less attention as it’s not hit the national news, it’s still only being reported regionally. Whereas Arthur’s case has been picked up by everyone - daily mail, the sun, bbc, therefore more people have heard about it and are following along. There are a few of us here though that are following for star and eagerly awaiting some justice for her

I’m following this case too. I’ve never seen a trial transcribed like this, word for word in the press. Is this a new thing? In the past I’ve only read short summaries by court reporters. Anyway, the whole saga is absolutely horrific. SB seems very cocky on the stand. Calling the barrister by his name, Mr Ali, is coming across as passive aggression and of course the smiling is totally arrogant. ‘It means not slower’ was a response I wasn’t expecting - she’s not stupid is she? but it won’t work. For her to be claiming that she was worried she’d be in trouble for the diesel theft and dog business when she’s been accused of murdering a baby, is really lame.
I’m wondering if one of the jurors has been threatened or bribed something. If that’s the case, I wonder what happens next?

This is the first trial I’ve come across where it’s been word for word. I’ve formed the opinion that the regionals have found this case so abhorrent that they are fully invested. Also, possibly because no national news have reported on it so they’re determined on getting stars story out there.

I think her demeanour and attitude on the stand will be detrimental to her defence. As much as I dislike reading about her cocky outbursts and her smiling, I’m glad she’s doing it because the jury are seeing exactly what sort of person she is.

That was my thought with one of the jurors - bribed, threatened, coerced? Possibly knows or has ties to the family? I have no idea what would happen if that were the case - would a new jury be assembled? Would the trial collapse? Could they continue with a new juror vetted and out in place? I have a feeling a lot of things will come out once this trial is over…

We are back today... No mention of the issue with the juror, could have been a childcare issue. Anyway.. Let's see what she trips herself up over today!!

A lot of people are lying or mistaken according to SB! 2 police officers, 3 medical personnel and of course Mr Ali…..

This prosecutor is absolutely going to town! Not at all pleasant to read, but direct and straight to the point with no room for SB to exude her sarcasm/passive aggressiveness/cockiness.

Reading these updates Brockhill is the most obnoxious person. Poor little Star

I couldn’t agree more. She’s absolutely vile.

Everyone is mistaken but SB it seems. She's so confident she's getting away with this.

She isn't cracking at all, is she? lie after lie and she's brazenly standing there arguing.

Infuriating me that she keeps talking about this BABY (only just more than one year old) as if it's reasonable to say she was 'naughty', 'tantrumming', a 'nasty nasty naughty child' ! That precious little kid must have been terrified the whole time, not knowing when the smiles were going to turn to savage slaps and punches. It's there on camera fgs and yet still this obnoxious woman is still brazenly standing by her lies - 'I was just turning her head towards the spoon' , etc

I am confident that her cross examination so far, has shown exactly what she is.

I am confident in a guilty verdict being returned for her.

I honestly can't believe what I read in thr transcript of her finding it funny that she fell off the chair, and still maintains her opinion. I hope she seriously suffers in prison!!
