Cops have launched a desperate search for a missing Scot who vanished over a week ago.

Stuart Campbell was last seen in the Westside Plaza area of Wester Hailes in Edinburgh at around 10.45am on Tuesday, March 22.

The 36-year-old is described as 5ft10, with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket, green hooded top with white ties and grey jogging bottoms.

Officers in Edinburgh are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Stuart Campbell, missing from Wester Hailes, and an increased police presence will be in the area searching for him.

The 36-year-old, who also has links to Oxgangs, was last seen in the Barn Park area of Wester Hailes, around 4pm on Tuesday 22 March 2022.

He’s described as 5ft 10in tall, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket, green hooded top with white ties and grey jogging bottoms.

Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton, Area Commander for South West Edinburgh said: “Stuart has not contacted friends or family since he was last seen, and we don’t believe he has access to a mobile phone.

“We are asking people in the local area to check garages, sheds, outhouses for any sign of Stuart and urge anyone who thinks they may have seen him since Tuesday 22 March 2022 to please get in touch with us.”

“We would also like people to check CCTV and dash-cam footage from the time he was last seen.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact 101, quoting reference 1205 of 28 March 2022.

Police Scotland is renewing the appeal for information to help trace Stuart Campbell, missing from Wester Hailes.

It’s been two weeks since the 36-year-old has been seen.

He was last seen in the Barn Park area of Wester Hailes, around 4pm on Tuesday, 22 March, 2022.

Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton, Area Commander for South West Edinburgh said : “It’s been two weeks since Stuart was last seen and as time goes on, we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. I would appeal to anyone who may have seen him to get in touch with us.

“Officers have carried our searches of the areas but Stuart may have gone further afield as he has links to Oxgangs. We have been putting posters in the local area in the hope it jogs someone’s memory.

“Stuart is described as being 5ft 10in tall, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket, green hooded top with white ties and grey jogging bottoms.

“Anyone who knows where Stuart is or who has information that could assist in tracing him should call 101 quoting 1205 of 28 March or speak to any police officer.”

Following enquiries into the disappearance of missing man Stuart Campbell, officers can confirm the last sighting of him was in the Colinton area of Edinburgh.

The 36-year-old has not been seen since Tuesday, 22 March, 2022, and enquiries have revealed he was seen leaving the Co-op store on Bridge Road around 6.45pm that day.

Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton, Area Commander for South West Edinburgh said:

“Today, we have released the images of Stuart within the Co-op. We now know he left the shop and turned right into Cuddies Lane, which leads onto Spylaw Street.

“This area is very close to Colinton Dell and the Water of Leith so we are asking anyone who frequents the area, including dog walkers, to please keep an eye out for Stuart.

“We are working extensively to try and find Stuart and I would ask the local community to check garages, sheds, outbuildings for any signs of him. Those who have video ring door bells I would ask them to check their footage. I would ask motorists to also check their dash-cam footage for any sightings they may have captured.

“We will be continuing our enquiries in the Colinton area in the coming days, reviewing CCTV, carrying our door to door along with further searches. I would again ask anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Stuart to contact 101, quoting reference 1205 of 28 March 2022”.

Edinburgh police have released a new sighting of missing man Stuart Campbell, who vanished from the Wester Hailes area over a month ago.

Stuart, 36, was last sighted on Tuesday, March 22 and now, enquiries have revealed he was last seen in Colinton on the same day.

The Daily Record report that officers can now confirm that Stuart was last seen leaving the Co-op store on the area's Bridge Road at around 6:45pm.

Stuart was wearing a a dark jacket, green hooded top with white ties and grey jogging bottoms at the time of his disappearance.

He is described as being 5ft 10ins tall with short brown hair and CCTV images of him entering and inside the shop have been shared.

Police in Edinburgh investigating the disappearance of 36-year-old Stuart Campbell have issued a renewed appeal for information six months on from when he was last seen.

Stuart has not been seen since Tuesday, 22 March, 2022 when he left the Co-op store on Bridge Road in the Collinton area of the city at around 6.45pm

Stuart’s mother Jane said :

“I know everything that could have been done has been done, but I am not giving up on finding him. I would urge anyone with information about his disappearance to come forward to assist the police investigation.”

Mum makes fresh appeal for missing Edinburgh son who disappeared in March

Sad news. After missing 6 months Stuart has been located.
Police in Edinburgh can confirm that the body of a man has been found at a disused quarry on Torphin Road, Edinburgh, around 12.50pm on Sunday, 6 November, 2022.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of 36-year-old Stuart Campbell missing since Tuesday, 22 March, has been made aware.

The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
