Police are appealing for any sightings or known whereabouts of 23 year old Timothy Chiwaula who was last seen about 8.45pm on Monday 11 October in Old Shettleston Road.

He is described as 5ft 7 inches in height with black dreadlocked hair.

Timothy was possibly wearing the jacket as seen in the picture, however this cannot be confirmed.

He is a student and frequents Glasgow City Centre.

The brother of a missing Glasgow student has urged him to "come home" after disappearing more than a week ago.

Timothy Chiwaula, also known as Timo or Tim, was last seen by pals at his house on Old Shettleston Road in Shettleston, Glasgow at around midnight on Sunday October 10.

However, the 23-year-old is believed to have left home sometime on Monday October 11 without his phone, wallet or passport and has not been seen since.

Speaking to the Record, his brother Joseph said he was at a loss as to why his brother had disappeared.

"His friends from college say he hasn't been in classes for a week," Joseph said.

"I tried calling him and it just kept ringing. And when I went to the house he has left his phone and his wallet, everything is there.

"I have got no clue [why he has left]. His friends had been with him on Sunday night watching football in the house and that was the last time they were in touch with him."

Timothy is a British national originally from Malawi and is studying for a BA Acting degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, which has joined in with the efforts to find him.

Chiwaula was last seen by two of his friends around midnight on the 11th in his house on Old Shettleston Road, in the Shettleston/Greenfield area of Glasgow.

He has not been seen since. He does not have possession of his phone, passport or wallet and is believed to be on foot.

The Royal Conservatoire made a statement on its social media accounts, and said: "Tim Chiwaula, a BA Acting student, is being treated as a missing person. Police Scotland request that Tim, or anyone who has any information as to his possible whereabouts, makes contact”.

"This is a worrying time for everyone who knows and loves Tim, and for our whole community. We hope he will be found safe and well soon.”

Lot of parks and green areas in the vicinity of where he lives.

Always worrying when someone goes missing taking no wallet or phone with them. Without either he is unlikely I would have thought to be more than a mile or two at most from where last seen.

Friends of a "sweet, funny and really talented" university student who has been missing for nine days are appealing for help to find him.

Timothy Chiwaula, 23, hasn't been seen since he left his home in Glasgow on foot on the evening of 11 October.

He left behind his phone, passport and wallet.

His university friends, who wish not to be named, have been speaking to Radio 1 Newsbeat about his disappearance.

"He's just a wonderful, wonderful person, he's really kind and compassionate," one friend says.

Timothy has been described by police as a black male between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9in, with brown eyes and dreadlocks.

He's studying acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, who have urged him to get in touch.

Timothy's course mates have been using a social media to try to find him.

They told Newsbeat he has an "infectious" smile and his acting performances are "filled with soul".

They spoke about him "always cracking a joke" and "always caring about the people around him".

"All his friends miss him so much," one friend says.

"We've all been trying to check in on him and were really shocked and saddened when we found out we needed to put out a missing person's call for him."

His friends have also been checking in with Timothy's family to help provide updates.

"We've all rallied around each other to support each other," one says.

Police officers in Glasgow told the BBC they were appealing for sightings of Timothy, who was last seen on Old Shettleston Road at 8.45pm on 11 October.

CONCERN is mounting for a student who vanished 10 days ago.

Timothy Chiwaula has not been seen since Monday, October 11.

The 23-year-old was last seen at 8.45pm in Old Shettleston Road in the city's East End.

Inspector Mhairi Crawford said : “We are growing increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of Timothy as he has not been seen for a number of days now.

“We are extremely grateful to members of the public who have assisted us already but I would appeal to anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Timothy to please contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0832 of 14 October, 2021.”

Timothy Chiwaula : Body of missing Glasgow student found

A body has been found in the search for a Glasgow student who vanished almost two weeks ago.

Timothy Chiwaula had not been seen since October 11 after leaving his home in Glasgow on foot.

Extensive searches were carried out for the 23-year-old, who was a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Officers say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
