Both of the main professional bodies for the funeral profession in the UK have sent out general notices to all members, indicating that local councils across the country will be carrying out impromptu and unannounced inspections of funeral homes, with immediate effect.

Not specifically about Legacy per se, but certainly as a result of their appalling actions and hopefully it will both reassure people about funeral directors in general and pick up any others who are bad actors. A step in the right direction at least. My hope is that they start with the FDs who aren't members of the professional bodies (like Legacy) as at present those aren't being inspected by anyone.

Company to be dissolved, with substantial debts to the council which they were paying off in instalments before one of their staff reported them to the police on 6 March over the way they were storing bodies.

Clearly, Legacy weren't the only funeral directors up to no good. Here's the rather similar sounding Scottish case.

This happening to one family is bad enough. It makes me so angry that this can happen multiple times, those poor families
