Police have confirmed that one man was pronounced dead at the scene and eight were injured. In the first full update since the incident took place more than three hours ago, the Metropolitan Police put out a statement confirming that counter-terrorism police were investigating the crime.
The statement said no other suspects at the scene have been identified or reported to police.

Wait what? I clicked the link and see anything about the driver specifically (other than a hate monger). Not sure why they would say how much his house is worth if they don't even name him and how it even matters? I'm confused.

Daily Mail has a habit of inserting how much a person's (celebrity, etc) house, yacht, etc is worth--kind of a running joke among readers because they insert the information when it has nothing to do with the article. Kind of like describing what color shoes a star was wearing at an event--yet barely talking about the event itself.

Eyewitness Abdul Rahman said the driver said he wanted to "kill all Muslims".

Mr Rahman told the BBC he struck the man and helped subdue him.

"When the guy came out from his van he wanted to escape, run away and he was saying 'I want to kill Muslims. 'I want to kill Muslims.'

"I hit him on his stomach... and then me and the other guys... we held him to the ground until he couldn't move. We stopped him until the police came."

Perpetrator as driving a white van. Reports of others involved are unconfirmed.

Metropolitan Police's deputy assistant commissioner Neil Basu said the attack began when the van was driven into a man who was already being given first aid by the public on the pavement.

"Sadly that man has died. It is too early to state if his death was a result of this attack."

All the victims were Muslim and there are currently no-other suspects, he added.

I don't know targeted yes but it is almost feeling as if there is (not in the context, of course, anyone who does this has mental illness but in a pronounced way in this situation,

This is a great saying and I want to remember this. Thank you.

What is real scary to me is this new wave of using vehicles to mow down people.

Ive been thinking about this and this is really scary because its not like LE can find out people are stockpiling weapons or something. They already have the "weapon" parked in the street like everyone else so there is no way to identify them in traditional ways.

I hope and pray that this sort of cowardly attack does not continue.

Another thing that is so stupid and senseless with terrorism of this sort is that the "victims" can be any random person of any religion background or even non religous background. Anybody in the public that just happens to be in the area can be a victim. Like when 911 happened there were victims of all religous faiths including muslims.

You would think that the terrorists would begin to realize how stupid this is but no instead of realizing it they just say "oh well. some collateral damage to my own people." It just shows how
insane and stupid this sort of thing is.

Like in this latest example no matter the reason for why it happened what if the drivers own mother happened to be in the area for some reason.
