Tom Gatti, who is the executive editor of culture, books, ideas and print at the New Statesmen, tweeted: 'Looking for our friend Vanessa from Hackney, who has been missing since Saturday morning.'
 
An article on the ITV News website adds the following details:

It is understood that Vanessa returned home from Manchester at 10am on Saturday morning.

She then changed clothes and left the house an hour later, captured by a doorbell video camera.

Vanessa was carrying a pink and white water bottle and the last confirmed sighting was on St Philip's Road in E8.

Friends said she had been struggling recently with mental health issues.

The body was recovered on the line between Dalston Kingsland and Hackney Central the same day. Although the formal identification is yet to take place, Vanessa Ford's family have been notified
 
Friend and bestselling author Sophie Heawood, best known for writing memoir The Hungover Games, had used social media to urge the public to look out for Ms Ford after she disappeared from the Richmond Road area of Hackney.
 
A body has been found in the search for a mother who went missing in east London over the weekend.

Vanessa Ford vanished near Richmond Road in Hackney at roughly 11am on Saturday.

Police have confirmed that a woman was found dead on the tracks between Dalston Kingsland and Hackney Central on the same morning.

Formal identification is still to be confirmed but Ms Ford’s family have been informed.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line close to Dalston Kingsland at 11.49am on 23 September following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

The force has now confirmed British Transport Police (BTP) are investigating a death on the morning of the same day on the tracks in Hackney.
