Found Deceased UK - Wayne Parker, 35, missing from Consett, County Durham

Police in County Durham are becoming increasingly concerned for a 35-year-old, Wayne Parker, who went missing from his home in Consett last week.

Mr Parker is described as white, of slim build, and has a large distinctive scar on the right side of his face.

He was last seen wearing a grey and black zip up top, black jacker, black joggers and bright coloured trainers.

Friends and family of Wayne, who describe him as "vulnerable", have set up an appeal page on Facebook. It is fair to say that there has been criticism locally about how long it took police to start appealing for sightings of Wayne. Unfortunately, the appeal has only been made via the Stanley and Consett branches of Durham Constabulary, rather than via the county-wide DC Facebook pages which will have a larger audience.

Durham Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Consett man Wayne Parker.

Durham Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Consett man Wayne Parker.

Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for the 35-year-old and his family have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and formal identification is yet to take place. Durham Police have confirmed that a file is being prepared for the coroner.
