My father) said she had made him suffer for 20 years, so he was going to make her suffer for five," he said.
Why did he still want her back ???

Michael Magarian QC, for Cannon, accused Richard Taylor of killing his father and seeking to frame his stepmother and her partner.

Mr Magarian said: "I suggest one of two things has happened in this case.
"Either something had happened on the Saturday (before the disappearance) where your father has been accidentally killed by you after an assault and then you've put the body on (Angela Taylor's) property - on Dog Kennel Farm - to implicate her.
"Or the alternative is that he died in some other way.
"I'm suggesting that if foul play occurred, then you did it."

Richard Taylor replied: "That's a total lie. May God forgive you."

Not sure if this is just inaccurate reporting, but Bill was seen by one of his grandson's on the Sunday evening.

Is somebody having a laugh. What a ludicrous suggestion. Hopefully that is the best the defense can come up with and justice will prevail. IMO of course

The phrase "Fighting is better than loneliness" springs to mind.

ITA. They were the ones planning it all by text and other means including the threats and burnt car. Have we heard about any evidence against GG yet?

The trial has already heard it was not possible to determine the precise cause of Mr Taylor's death because of the advanced stage of decomposition, as the body had been partly submerged in water for eight months.

Pathologist Charlotte Randall told jurors that the post-mortem examination showed "severe decomposition".

The jury heard that no natural cause of death such as disease was identified, there was no sign of blunt force injuries, and no evidence of gunshot or stab wounds.

Dr Randall told the court there was a "possible fracture of one of the delicate neck structures" called the hyoid bone, "raising the possibility of compression to the neck prior to death".

She said it is not common to sustain a fracture to the upper neck area as a result of accidental trauma.

Dr Randall also said she could not completely exclude the possibility of smothering.

She said death due to drowning should be considered due to the fact his body was found in water, but added that a test was carried out with results that supported the view that he was not alive when he entered the water.

Dr Randall said the features of how he was found were not typical of when death has occurred by suicidal drowning.

The pathologist said the cause of death was "unascertained".

Neck fracture due to neck compression so that is likely how he was killed. Or asphyxiation. And not alive when he went in the water. MOO.

I think it was mentioned early on that he was staying there. I think he reported him missing the next morning IIRC.

From page 1 of the thread

Report dated June 26th -

"Bill was last seen by his grandson three weeks ago, at his home in Gosmore at around 9pm on June the 3rd.

“Bill has turned 70 since he has been missing..."

Not seen anything specific as yet, other than the reason he was contacted. But the coverage in this trial is so minimal.

Gosmore farmer whose body was found on a riverbank 'got estranged wife's lover sacked from his job'

Local paper has a little more info about the rift between father and son.

"Bill and Richard Taylor had taken out a loan of £1 million to clear all the debts on Harkness Hall and Angela's two farms, but the relationship between father and son was strained partly because Angela still had access to the joint business account.

Richard Taylor, who is a farmer and who also runs a coach business, gave evidence to the jury behind a screen. He told the jury that money he had put into the joint bank account had been "stolen" by Angela Taylor.

At a pheasant shoot in November 2015 the police were called after a row between Bill and one of his daughters in front of around 40 guests. It led to Richard having no contact with Bill for two and a half years.

In April last year he said his father came to find him when he was walking the dog with his daughters. "His sister had put pressure on him to find me. He was very down, very sad. His family had broken down and he had got no one. He was in a very low ebb."

Asked by prosecutor John Price QC how he looked, he replied: "Drained, frail, weak, sad."

After then he said Bill would visit his coach offices every day.

The married father-of-four told the jury he had not seen his own mother since he was 11 and had been brought up since then by his father. He said his father inherited farms in the area from his parents who had bought them in the 1960s."

No his grandson was not staying there.

But my point, which English was responding to, is that the quote from the court has the QC for PCannon accusing RT of the murder of his father, on the Saturday June 2.
That has to be either QC getting info wrong ? ( unlikely ) or the msm report being inaccurate, because WT was seen by his grandson on the evening of Sunday June 3 - as noted in the article you are quoting.

Going back to the first months when William went missing, Tortoise shared link from the metro news, That said Mr Taylor became a widow when his wife Grace died in 2016. !! July 8th post .

That info is inaccurate.

I thought he last saw him at 9 p.m. June 3rd and then he was missing on the morning of the 4th. I may have misunderstood what I read early on though.
I didn't notice the boo boo about the 2nd June. TY for clarifying.

Just seen this article on line. Finally there is some info re the friend - although sounds more like it was a friend visiting, rather than someone who lived with him.

Hertfordshire Police said the case was still being treated as a missing person investigation, but officers could be searching for a body.

A friend who was staying with Mr Taylor reported him missing on 4 June after waking up to find he was gone.

Police 'could be looking for farmer's body'

This is where I got the info about the person waking up on 4th and reporting him missing. Do we know who this was?

I understand it was the person who was lodging with Bill who reported him missing.
I will check back in the records, but from memory, this person was not at the house on the night of June 3 , so Bill was only missed when the lodger returned on the evening of June 4.

The article states the person woke up and found he was missing so it does sound like the person was sleeping there. It is confusing, so hopefully it will be covered in the evidence, if and when it gets reported.
