Unorganized Searching

an the food thing:confused: I don't understand since they were screaming for Food for you guys and the great group on Murt's Mobile came thru Max..I personally sent Pizza's and water..Pizza Hut was awesome about this whole thing.

A couple people I searched with had searched last time and they believed that food would again be provided this time. We really did not know what to expect. I saw the list of items to bring and don't remember that it said to pack a lunch, but if you guys say it did, then it did. On Sat our group got back at noon, and there was no food. No big deal, we weren't there for the food of course (!), so we went out and got some, and got some for 2 volunteers that were helping with parking, as well. We were happy to do it. When we got back at 1 the food had arrived. That made it much easier for those searchers still coming back, they didn't have to get in their cars, drive for food, wait in the long fast food lines, and rush back before their team went out again. So that was great, and so wonderful that much of it came from people here.

I personally am very disappointed in TES and Tim. He said they would search through Monday and re-evaluate on Tuesday. They collected a lot of money for this search, what was it spent on? I'll never donate to them again, that's for sure.

OP thanks for posting this and to all of the other posters thanks for sharing your input as well. I understand the emotions here, but I don't understand all of the defensiveness. I didn't take anyone's post as bashing TM or TES; they were just sharing their opinions.

If people needed water and didn't have it, then imo, shame on TES. I donate monthly to TES with an employer match, I might add; and donated extra for this search; along with multiple Quiznos and Popeye's food deliveries; and between my family and I, we donated many, many cases of water. These donations were requested for the searchers, and I would like to have known that the organizers of this search would have ensured that ALL of the searchers had what they needed before sending them out. I know we're all adults, but I also know that many people have never searched before and might not know exactly what to bring with them; regardless of the training given to the team leaders the night before.

Whether they had an experienced Team Leader, searchers or were in physical shape to search, or not; to me I'm thankful that they offered their services.

If the search organizers / TES felt they weren't in appropriate condition to search, maybe they could've assigned them other tasks; as it sounds like it would've been helpful.

Many of us contributed to this search, whether by financial, physical, or spiritual means and I don't think anyone deserves to be bashed for sharing their opinions and / or venting about their experiences.
For those of you who had better experiences than the OP, that's great. I think everyone would agree that is how we wanted it to be for all involved. But, it obviously wasn't.
I think everyone can learn from this experience...the searchers, contributors, and TES. I hope that we all will take something from this and use it to better our next efforts; whether it be searching for another poor soul or not.

I think we all put too much trust in TES, maybe that's where we went wrong, who knows? I do think TM's comments about NG and LP were in extremely poor taste and out of character for him. Especially considering the multiple pleas from NG and LP for donations to TES. I don't think that could ever be explained well enough for me to understand. Leaves me with a really bad taste in my mouth.

Lastly, I certainly hope there is a reason that TM recanted on his word to search at least until Tuesday; as I'm sure many people were affected by this decision. Those who traveled great distances to learn the search was ending; those who were preparing to travel, bought tickets, took off from work, etc. I keep telling myself there has to be a reason, and I hope I'm right...if not, it will truly change my feelings about TES, for whatever that's worth.

I apologize for the length of this post, I didn't intend on saying all of this, it just kept going and going and going...like the energizer bunny. LOL

You are asked do you have any health issues and explain if so and many did stay behind and answered the phones, sign up sheet and other misc. activities. Thank you for the water that was donated and the Popeye's ( I really enjoyed got it while it was hot, Quiznos, etc. There was plenty of water to go around and I might add quite a few cases left over which I am sure they transported to NC.

I am not familar with a man missing from a residental center but I do know of a 45 yr old woman, Moua. She went missing about 45 minutes from me. She is a diabetic that needs meds 4x a day & has some mental health issues. She would be an easy target for bad people. I thought it was her family that went & asked TM to come back & search. They have been here before. That is the search I will help with when I get offical word,

Don't wait for official word call TES now if you want to participate. Hopefully, I will be going to NC also and I will be calling TES to see where the Command Center is so I can arrange to be there. If you are that close you can help NOW while they are setting up.

Hey Gram2 we did search Monday all day. I was in the last group to return and Tim was there and said they were not leaving until Tuesday. I left the command area around 3:30 PM to drive back to NE Florida. We only had about 75 volunteers Monday due to people having to go back to work. We all searched in the same area forming one big line and going into the woods (palmeto bushes so thick you couldn't see the other side) shoulder to shoulder turn around and search our way back out. We then move down and did it again and again until the area that needed to be searched was complete.

Just wanted you to know we did search Monday.:) Also Tim was at the search site most of the time and Sean, Big Dave and other core people were there all day.

Tim said in an interview that the search costs exceeded $100,000. Only $70,000 was donated.

I searched Monday all day as well til the end I was planning on driving home Sunday but because of Monday searching I stayed over another night.

Thanks to all of those who explained how it REALLY went down. There are some of us who won't be surprised. Enough of the hype and how Tim Miller is a saint. He's not. Search, leave, biggest search ever, leave, etc. etc. Tell me that something isn't a bit hinky with this.

And yes, I know that he has his defenders and can do no wrong, but some of us refuse to be conned, by him OR Padilla.

If they search Monday why didn't he say so..The public didn't hear that to my knowledge

It was all over the NEWS stations that is why I stayed over again. When I left Sunday after asking about Monday I was told to check the news and one good thing about the MEDIA that is where I got my info.

What happened to this is all about Caylee....................

Has TES publicly stated all of the locations that have been searched thus far?
I know that there were around 110 search areas that were planned, and i cant see this being covered in just a couple of days..
Anyone got a link to a map of the areas searched and cleared by tes?
ETA- That way the people who continue to search will not wasting time by doubling up on areas that have already been searched...

Gram, their books are open to anyone that wants to see them anytime. Perhaps this article will explain a little better. I admit there was a slow start but once we got out there, it was work.

We're you there to be one more person with 2 feet on the ground and 2 eyes looking for the slightest thing that might have led us to finding Caylee? We're you there to notice the huge generators it takes just to run equipment like computers, printers, sound systems? We're you there to see the cost for the portable facilities, the tents, the chairs, the trailer for people to do the mapping, printing, etc. Do you have any idea how much money it takes to set up for 5000 people and 1000 show up one day and 500 the next? Give TES a break! Had they known the turnout would have been that low, they would have provided for that number of people, not 5000.

They aren't in it for money, that's obvious! They were operating in the red in spite of the donations, which many of the searchers also participated in. Tim wouldn't even know how to con you or anyone else. He may not be a saint but he's the closest to one I've seen in a good long time.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Can't please all of the people all of the time.

I am sure there are more......

Cindy quoted almost verbatum at Blanchard park and after what Tim said to David Lohr.

Tim got Cindy all riled up that day. It would be easy to press her buttons to have her go off. Namely Leonard.

Maybe he didn't feel he had to clear everything with the public. When I was leaving Sunday night I asked him if he was searching Monday and he said yes and I asked what time to be there and he said 8 AM. I was there around 7:30 and the place was swarming with activity.

Like I said in an earlier post somewhere on here our perception of things may be different than what they actually are so we shouldn't run to cast a stone! JMO. We don't always know everything. I can assure you the media certainly knew they wouldn't leave us alone followered us everywhere and choppers over head all day. Surprised you didn't see it on the news. It was on Nancy Grace Monday night , I know because I watched to see what was said.:)

Thanks for the response and most of all for your search efforts. I'm glad that you enjoyed the food and were able to get it while it was still hot! It makes me feel good knowing that there was possibly enough water left to transport to NC.
Again, I can't say thank you enough!

oh yeah-I'm glad they made use of those who were unable to search due to health conditions, etc. So many people just want to help...and that's a good thing!

You know what, cold pizza and cold hamburgers and fries are good when you are hungry and you appreciate all the people who provided the food, drinks, prayers, on site support and transportation. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. I APPRECIATED EVERY BITE OF FOOD AND THE MANY, MANY BOTTLES OF WATER I DRANK!!!!!!

Another tidbit no one had to use their POV unless they chose to do so. Every team had the opportunity to ride a bus or van to every site. Unless you were there to see for yourself maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge:)

P.S Buses and rental vans cost a lot of money to rent!

Hi All,

I am getting many alerts about this thread. I haven't read through it but what I have read there is not a thing wrong with it.

People are allowed to express their opinions on what is going on and the people involved. What I read was very respectful and no problem.

I know TES and LP are certainly not perfect and I am sure they can impove in many areas but at least they did something and continue to do to some extent.

Now, I wasn't there over the weekend and therefore it is important to get the opinions of those who were.

So, no issues with this thread as long as it stays respectful.

Tricia
