''On November 15, 2012, shortly after midnight, calls were made to the 911 station regarding a fire at 3559 Ontario Street East in Montreal, near the intersection of Joliette Street in the Hochelaga Maisonneuve neighbourhood. It is a building housing a bar on the ground floor and a rooming house on the upper floors.

When the first responders arrived on the scene, they had to intervene quickly to save lodgers trapped in the flames. Among other things, a 51-year-old man suffered very serious burns on 30% of his body and he had to spend several weeks in hospital in intensive care in the burn unit.

The firefighters managed to control the flames, unfortunately, they discovered the body of two people who died of asphyxiation. They are Jeannine Léveillé Grenier, 66, and her brother Richard Léveillé, 56. They lived in the building and were neighbours.

The investigation has shown that the motive for this double murder is a turf war between two criminalized groups to obtain the sector’s exclusivity with respect to the sale of Crack. Obviously, a group had an interest in eliminating this place. What is troubling is that the three victims were completely unrelated to this type of activity and are only innocent victims.

Witnesses allowed us to create a sketch of the suspect who started the fire. If this face means anything to you, please do not hesitate to contact us to further our investigation.

In addition, the suspect left at the scene of the crime certain objects that were analyzed by our experts and we obtained a valid DNA result.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SPVM, either by calling 911, going to a neighbourhood station, via our website or, anonymously, by contacting Info-Crime Montréal. Each information received will be processed and analyzed. The file will remain open until resolved. '' (English translation)
