So, Jason was still seeing Julie Tyndale when Michelle lost her apartment and moved in with him and Ryan in their rental. Prosecution tried to make that sound like Jason and Michelle were exclusive and he was cheating.
Now she's after the money ... he had 70k income plus commissions and she had 60k.
Prosecution suggesting that Michelle wanted to sell the investment property ... Jason claims it was a sound investment. Jason's online gambling was a problem and a source of a couple of arguments.
Prosecution alleges that there were difficulties in the Linda Fisher relationship ... suggesting that Jason objected to Ms Fisher coming, staying and voicing opinions about how things had to be. Prosecution alleges that Jason was adamently opposed to Ms Fisher moving into the family home.
That seems normal. Who would tolerate their mother in law permanently moving into the matrimonial home ... especially with such a young family.
The cross examination is ridiculous. The prosecution asks Jason if he was ever violent with a woman and he asks if she's referring to the Cargyle incident. She says no, but does he ever remember being with Cargyle and punching the window. He already answered that one.
The whole case has been like this.
Jason knew LE would be coming after him from the start.
Just because he was "approx" 3 hours away wasn't going to mean anything.
So, what does he do the days before and leading up to Michelle's murder?
He is either on the phone or texting up a storm with Michelle Money, who he is having an affair with.
Not too bright.
He and Michelle are known for the arguments, so he could have put on a real affectionate show in front of Shelly Schaad before he left.
Like waiting on Michelle, hugging her, talking about the baby, etc, and having dinner with them....(SS had brought takeout)
But, what does he do? He says he is ging to go eat at Cracker Barrel on his way, which he does!!
Video shows him there........and get this.
If we use Jason's departure from Raleigh at approx 7:35 or so, and he is at CB from 9

3 hours+20 minutes
minus- 30 minute dinner stop

The medical director he was meeting with could have used one word to describe him, exhausted, but she didn't.
Or, she could have said he had scratches on his face or hands, but,she didn't.
And, that would have been the most powerful damning physical evidence ever.
