Updates & discussion on searches, news releases

Is LE planning on doing any more ground searches with cadaver dogs for Haleigh and where?I find it very strange they haven't been doing any more ground searches.

I know that TES was putting out the word earlier this year that they were waiting for Florida to have a couple of cold snaps to allow for the vegetation to die back. It can get so thick out in the woods that you literally have to cut your way through. It's also been very warm extending into November this year so the vegetation continued to grow and get even thicker. I'm hoping after the holidays, the change in weather will allow for reasonable visibility while searching.

Wasn't searching ideal last Feb/Mar?

............unless she is clothed or in a container...it is hopeless. An adult body in Florida heat left in the open will completely decompose in 14 days.

I don't believe TES is going to expend resources searching unless there is a new lead or something tangible to go on --- Misty?, Ron?

IIRC didn't the LDT reveal she was 42 or 43 percent deceptive when they asked her if she knew where Haleigh was or who had taken Haleigh?

IMHO.. I suspect she may have some idea as to who and where but am wondering if she truly knows where Haleigh was taken or who took her...I believe she was present when whatever happened occurred but I don't believe Ron C told her where exactly Haleigh was taken... That way she can't lead LE to Haleigh and even IF she tells them what really happened, it would be her word against Ron C's word....And the rest of his family...JMO

I agree with your reasoning on if MC knows exactly where Haleigh is and who put her there. After looking at maps today my heart sunk even lower in hopes of her being found. Especially after I looked at the acres and acres of dense woods near Ron's Uncle Donald's house. For all we know someone (not saying him) could of been hiding Haleigh at the exact same time she was being searched for on Feb. 10 after daylight came. What is the protocol for searching first? Something like a 5 mile radius then expand from that? As another poster stated in another thread-without a clue it would be impossible to find her in all of the dense foilage.

It was certainly better visibility than it is right now but a lot of that part of Satsuma is swamp, (cypress knees), etc. Very hard walking through and under about a foot of water or more in some spots. Large gopher turtle holes in the sides of the banks, (have to watch out for snakes in those holes), etc. It's never ideal but I don't believe now that we;ve been through there that Haleigh was in those areas anyway.

That may be true but it's never hopeless..............

Tim said he would be back and he will. I don't know why you would guess that he would not expend his resources searching because there are no new leads. I don't want to go any further with my comment other than to say, if Tim said it, it will happen because it's about Haleigh, not Misty or Ron.

Wow! 14 days? That is far faster than I would have expected.

That is for all soft tissue to decompose. DNA can be garnered from human remains for far longer.

Thanks Dolls for keeping "a search" in our hearts and minds. It's never too late, or too wrong to want to search in the "Hunt for Haleigh". Hugs

I've been enjoying my Haylee here at home, my heart has been too tender to post since she's been home, the mere mention of a name means something. What I would give to have another family feel their "Haleigh, Haylee's home"!
